I've been wondering if they're ever going to make a Hoenn remake. I myself am 16 and have never played a pokemon game in the region of Hoenn. I've played since Diamond, so I've been able to experience all the other regions (Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Unova), but I have no idea what Hoenn is like. A year ago I ordered a Pokemon Emerald that was supposed to be in good shape off of Amazon. Right after I made it past the first gym my game got an error and Emerald never worked again (waste of money). Anyway else hoping this will happen? Also, is there a way I can play Emerald without the game crashing?

Hoenn remake is probably the most requested Nintendo game currently, and no one can blame them, Gen 3 was the best imo.

If you have an android phone I could help you with being able to play emerald without it crashing and while keeping a save file that is transferable to a cartridge.

They're bound to make it at some point. They will eventually run out of new ideas for some time and decide to do a remake of the most loved generation of Pokemon.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, so sure.

I have an Android tablet. Does it work on there too? I never played Gen 3 due to the year of losing all games that exist in my house.

If it can take an external sd card then it should work.

Go to your play store and install "My Boy!" Free

You don't need the paid version, the free one gives you everything you need. Paying for it just allows you to use save states ( big whoop =/ )

I wouldn't class it as most loved-Gen I or Gen II is very much in peoples hearts.

Gen III is good, but I don't feel it deserves a remake as such yet. See how long it took for the original silver and gold got a re-make. Whilst Gen III introduced a lot of good ideas that are now stable in pokemon, for me it wasn't my greatest pokemon experience.

Heartgold and Soulsilver came out two generations after the original Gold and Silver. By the 6th generation a Hoenn remake will have came out three generations after the originals. It definitely deserves a remake.

EDIT: It will actually have taken LONGER, is my point. And it's kind of unfair that someone who has had the chance to play it and doesn't like it doesn't want a remake to come out, while someone who hasn't had the chance to play it and actually might like it does want one.

Generation III had the best gameplay and features in my personal opinion.

The pokemon designs were on par with the Gen I/II.

Gen 3 introduced better graphics, contests, the fact that you actually have a dad now, and a bunch of other awesome stuff like two teams, one good and one bad. As far as fan opinions go, Gen 3 was the best.

Ruby was my first pokemon game (Got it when I was 9 and I'm nearly 17 now!) I still have my original cartridge along with a copy of sapphire and emerald. I would love for them to remake Ruby and Sapphire on the 3DS, though I will always go back to my GBA to play my older copies!

IMO

Gen 1 was so broken... It's only in peoples hearts for nostalgia purposes, replaying the original red or blue versions gives you a major headache today.

Gen 4 was abhorrently awful. I mean for ****s sake surfing was SLOWER than walking. **** off.....

Gen 2 Fixed a lot of issues and was an absolutely awesome generation of pokemon. Crystal version was the ****.

You also need to remember that Gen 3 consists of Fire Red and Leaf Green, those don't really count as gen 1, they're just gen 1 remakes. Also Gen 4 contains SS and HG, which along with platinum are the only playable games from that gen, even though platinum still does have it's issues ( MGS class massive ****ing dialogue ftl ). Diamond and Pearl were ****ing terrible, so many goddamn issues and the elite four was just a pathetic mass of crap. So much so that they had to redo it for Platinum.

Gen 5 restructured breeding, and on top of this with the first two installments of its games it reintroduced how it felt to play Gen 1, when everything was new again. It's beloved n_n ~ <3

B2 and W2 put the finshing touches on the story and has brought the fandom roaring back.

For the next steps PM me. I'm unsure of the forums rules for linking things like torrents etc so I'll play it safe. Also if you have a wiimote, android is compatible, thus you can use your wiimote to play pokemon ruby/emerald/FR/LG and your phone as the monitor. This is of course a nice alternative if you don't want to use touch screen controls.

I'm glad to see that there are so many Gen 3 fans. Ruby is my fav. (Team Magma for the win!) You're missing out on the best versions if you never play a Hoenn game. And yes, they should totally make a remake already, it's high time.

Emerald was great, not the best imo but I did love the new features they incorporated into the generation. I don't believe they'll be making a remake for a long time though.. especially since X and Y are coming soon

i certainly hope there wont be a remake of that.
i'd rather them spend their time on new things.
i mean R/S/E isnt that outdated.

Emerald and platinum are my favorite pokemon games. Hoenn overall is my favorite region however. You can play emerald on your pc too if you want. Just download visualboy advance and download an emerald rom.

2>5>1>4>3 imo.
(Ruby is the strangly the Pok?mon game I spent most time with ~750 hours.)

EDIT: I don't think they will remake RSE, the reason they remaked rby and gsc was outdated graphics and bugs.

I started playing in gen 4 too, so I know what you mean. I feel like I missed out on something amazing.
