hello friends!
my main town Sanuye is in need of a complete overhaul,
i feel like i've abandoned it because the layout gives me a headache.
it's still fairly new (4 months or so?) + i don't have all that many pwp's
(i do have the caf? + campsite tho')
i had started laying down paths without any thought + i've left myself in a bit of a pickle...

SO, my questions are...
  • should i just go mad with my axes + have a clean slate?
  • is there a good time of day to do this?
  • why have i left this so late?

i'd like a town with natural dirt paths but for now i'm going to stick with tiles,
because i know once the snow has gone it's going to be even more of a mess
especially with my time travelling habits

thanku!

i know once i start this monumental task i'll end up procrastinating.

I feel the same way as you with my first town. I didnt have much of a plan, and when I decided to have a plan, random villagers keep moving into spots I've marked for a park and orchards. Super annoying. SO i started a new town and I found it much easier to manage.

Good luck with your overhaul! It's the most fun part of the game IMO.

I don't think it's that late at all! I'm redoing Thistle, and it's a fully established town with Gracie. It's never too late. I'd say, stock up on axes, like ten or so, and if you don't want to be stung by bees you should open your town gates! NO BEES! I cut down all the trees at once, then went around with a shovel digging up stumps.

Time of day does not matter so much but I like to do it during the daytime so I can see everything well. If it's at all possible to lay out your map in a larger format and print it out with a grid overtop, you can plan where youw ant your paths to be.

Good luck! And definitely have fun with it, there's something rudely enjoyable about madly deforesting everything.

OH ALSO stock up on saplings, haha.

thank you! i'm quite excited to start, i just hope i get more pwp requests before i finally decide what i'm gunna do.
i would be tempted to start over, but my mam has made a character and i don't want her to lose her stuff hahah ;
she doesn't go on it often but i'd still feel terrible. i have my other town when i feel the urge to reset!

my closet is full of saplings! also Ankha gave me some bamboo, it's almost like she knew what i was planning...
in my last town the bamboo was crazy - nobody had warned me so i found out the hard way huhuhu

i can't wait to run through all the flowers i don't want tho'
i've got a nice lil nursery going on at the beach which should tie me over for now.

this doesn't seem as daunting now!

Bevelle is my first town and I just plotted in my final villager... it is a very fairytale town and has taken me over a year to get how I want it... But I know eventually I will destroy everything destroyable and start over. I have decided that I won't reset, but I will be recreating it (possibly into a zen town). I think recreating is much more fun than resetting... and once you have a blank canvas you have the chance to plan it all from scratch, but without having to start over!

Good luck!

thank you!
yeah i am quite excited, even though it'll be a challenge in some areas,
like i wish i had placed the campsite in a different area - it's not hideous though so i'm sure i can work around it,
i think it's just because Diana has moved as close as possible to it.

i might get rid of the trivial pwp's i have dotted about the place too,
try and make it as easy as possible for myself. expensive but worth it!
