wow my first real glitch

Today Tutu finished moving in via amiibo. I went to her house to check it out, I looked in her wardrobe randomly even though I was fully expecting the “there’s nothing in here” message, instead she has all 3 clothing items I’ve gifted to Ike. I didn’t even amiibo her into Ike’s spot, she replaced Pango so I don’t understand why she got his wardrobe. After my character closes the wardrobe they say “huh, makes sense” No it doesn’t actually Anyway just wondering if anyone knows:

1) Does this mean she’s going to wear Ike’s clothes (she can’t pull those looks off)

2)What causes this? I didn’t TT at all while she was moving in

3)Can I fix it somehow

I read somewhere that this is a known glitch and the villager wardrobes are not showing things properly. See if you can test it by going to other villagers in your island and check their wardrobe. You might see something similar where they have clothing that was given to other villagers stored insided.

Oh really? :0 I guess it probably could be going on all over town with me unawares, it seems like no one who lives on my island has a closet in their house so I never get to check. I’ll try to find somebody else who has one so I can see!

I have Pierce and Poppy on my island. Pierce's wardrobe only shows Poppy's clothes whereas his clothes are nowhere to be found. They also seem to hang out a lot, visiting each other's houses and stuff. I like to think that they're dating

This has happened in my sister's town. She does not have amiibos, nor does she TT, and last I heard 4 of her villagers have their wardrobes mixed up. They still wear the "correct" clothes, but it's still weird and annoying for her to look into Stu's wardrobe and see Sprinkle's clothes.

it's just a visual thing when you check the wardrobe

she won't be wearing ike's clothes, just when you look in a villager's wardrobe they will display other villagers wardrobes instead

Ooh ok thanks for the answers everyone! I checked Judys wardrobe and it’s normal, so too bad Tutu got bugged out but good to know it’s just a visual thing. B)
