Won't let me use the link button when posting?

i wanted to post a link within one word, but then i did something and now it won't let me use the link button. when i hover over it it says unlink, but i clicked it and nothing happened.
how do i fix this?

idk i never use that button, in fact, i didnt know it existed until just now.

maybe someone else will tell you how to fix it, but for now, you have an alternative
