Wolfgang, Octavian or Boyd? (HELP)

So I know that these posts are hard because everything is highly subjective but I need some input badly.
I'm trying to write a pros and cons list for the 3 to decide whom I should keep since I can only have 1 Cranky in my town (I'm keeping my 3 lazies atm and I don't think I'll be able to part with them).

Boyd: He's a Welcome Amiibo villager and I've never had him. I know he's not popular but the Welcome Amiibo cards are virtually impossible to come by (or too expensive) so chances of re-inviting him back down the line are slim. He's a gorilla as well (again, I know - not popular) but I find the Cranky personality really suits this particular villager species.

Octavian: I've got Zucker so he can be like his older grumpy brother. It's nice to have two of the same species. I also know that he's more on the popular side and the Octopus villagers are more rare in general (only 3 of them) but I somehow don't click with him. I know it's weird because Zucker (who is also an octopus) is like my No. 1 villager so I'm not sure if it's just a matter of not being used to him or what.

Wolfgang: He was my starter and permanent resident in New Leaf. While I like him, I'm not the biggest fan of the wolf villagers. I kept him in New Leaf because he was my starter and I kind of felt it would be weird to let him go. But this time around I'm just not sure. I also know that he's quite popular (Tier 2, I believe) so I could get reasonable offers on him if I were to ever adopt him out.

All the three were invited through Island Tours and, sadly, I don't have any of their amiibo cards which is also unfortunate because I have to come to terms with the fact that the decision will likely be permanent.

I think keeping Wolfgang would definitely be a must as he was your starter in New Leaf and how great is it that he has come to you again! I love your Octavian idea about the siblings but if you don't feel a connection then maybe he's not the right cranky to have on your island. Your reason for having Boyd is good but if the main reason you want him is because he's hard to come by, maybe you could let him leave. I personally would keep the villager that I feel is closest to me or the villager that I feel I can connect with. Maybe go with Wolfgang as he and you have a past that goes back to Lew Leaf

this is what i was going to say! you don't sound as attached to octavian and boyd - more so that their species are interesting or that they're popular/hard to find. you could always just keep wolfgang and see how that goes for you, it's so sweet that you had him in new leaf. a lot of my dreamies are villagers i've had in other games too!

Yupp... you're right in the sense that I had Wolfgang before and when I saw him on a tour I kind of took it as a sign, to be honest.
However; I also know that if I were to give either Wolfgang or Octavian up, chances are, they'd both end up with someone who really wants them.
As for Boyd, I don't think he has a large fan base and my suspicion is that he'd just be voided.
Anyway, still stuck in this dilemma for the time being.

This is really hard and I have the same dilemma with Marina. I personally am not a big fan of octopus villagers but I kinda like this one in particular.
Then again, you shouldn't let popularity influence you. If you're familiar with Wolfgang you should know by now how his personality is! I've had him on my island too and I liked him quite a lot! But he was one of my gf's dreamies so I let her have him, but I still visit him even now on her island!
As for Boyd, I don't like gorillas at all so I would definitely let this one go xD Then again, it's up to you!

Between those 3 I would either keep Wolfgang or Octavian, though I wanna say Wolfgang more! You're right that having more of the same species is cute (I have 3 koalas on my island xD) but only if you really like that species. If there's doubt in your thinking that octopuses aren't really your favorite, then maybe you should let Octavian go as well ;;

Most likely, I'll be keeping Wolfgang just because of the sentimental value.
My favorite villager is hands down Zucker, but I just don't quite vibe the same way with Octavian.
I'll probably keep Boyd for the time being though just in case I change my mind.
