Will villager put bugs/fish in their houses?

In NL, I never gave bugs or fish to my villager because they would replace nice furniture with it. I've had a few requests for bugs/fish from NH villagers, but I'm afraid to give them any. Will they still put them in their houses, like in previous games?

Yes. I had Mira request I catch her a moth, and she put it in her house.
I've also had villagers stop me when I am fishing, ask for the fish in my inventory, and they put those in their house too.

they will. while they might not every time, it’s certainly possible and a few of my villagers have done so aha

They still do, yeah! Though there are some chances where they don’t display it.

Diana’s got two Black Bass (of all the other things I had on me at the time it’s what she always asks about) displays stacked on each other. But I gotta admit some of the displays are pretty funny like with fleas. It’s a cup overturned on a piece of paper and when it’s in Beau’s place it’s funny to look at.

Yes. I watch a streamer who gifts Wasps to his villagers every day. One of his villagers has 4 Wasps in his house at the same time.
