Will Timmy and Tommy's upgrade further? (+ questions about shop hours in general)

Do we know yet if Timmy and Tommy's shop will upgrade into the shopping mall-esque center at some point? IIRC in the older games, once upgraded the shop would be open until later.

That's something I want in general too, but I'm also wondering because my of my boyfriend's current work (from home) hours - his shift ends at midnight, and he doesn't like that the shop closes at 10 now since he upgraded out of the tent. Timmy and Tommy were buying his items 24/7 before, so this feels like a downgrade for him.

He also really dislikes time traveling and wants to experience the game as-is, so I am stumped on how to help him with this if the shop will not be open til later. Any other ideas would be appreciated, thanks!


edit: I totally forgot to tell him about the shipping box on the second upgrade whoops there's that too
but I still want to know if the shop will upgrade further than that lol

I have worked around this partly by visiting other towns to shop/sell in other timezones. It is not the easiest workaround, but less hassle than stacking everything outside the shop overnight and then picking it up again to sell when Nook's re-opens.

To be honest, sometimes I would rather take the 20% loss not to have to go through the Nooklings' long dialogue options every time I go in It shows the credit balance as I deposit, though, so why do I have to wait for the money until someone calls me in the morning? And if the Nooklings can call me and transfer money at 5am, why do I have to wait until 8am for them to open, and also wait for credit for items deposited between 5am and 8am that morning to be given the following day? And - why can't they pick up stock from a deposit box by my house? Given that they only pay 80% of value, what effort are they expending to justify the service costs? Other games do easier 24/7 drop offs at full sale price...

I would also love a 24/7 upgrade. For all shops. Not holding my breath, though.

The datamine suggests there are three upgrades after the initial upgrade. The first is dependent on time, second on an amount of bells spent, and third is unknown.

Is the second uo grade the one where there is furniture being displayed to be sold on the lower left side of the map? I’m watching videos and sometimes I see shops with selling surfboard on the lower left but most shops i’ve went only have 3 items on the ramp and 2 on the tables near the cabinet.

I was hoping for the Emporium.

Even WW had a Nookingtons.. so remaining at Nooks Cranny is a massive step backwards.

I think crafting is the reason the much beloved furniture sets seem to be gone.

I hope they bring them back, along with Gracie and her furniture.

I had a hard time noticing the difference, too, but you may be right. Unless that's a limited items only section.
