Will it grow?

I'm trying to make a little area in my town where I can sit and it's surrounded by trees and they're supposed to be together. Sorry for the low quality picture:

I know trees aren't supposed to be near stuff or else they won't grow, but will these grow? I'd like to know so I won't waste my time waiting for them to grow ool

I thought that was the beach for a moment. You can have a bush between two trees.

all of the saplings are trees, but I'll go and buy some bushes then. hope it still looks nice

Can't really tell from the angle, but trees do need to grow a space away from things short of the plaza and train station cobbles.

Put flowers between the saplings. If the saplings are one flower width apart from each other, then they will grow.

Each tree needs one space around it.

You need to make sure that the tree has enough space to grow. So there should be space to dig a hole around every side of the sapling. If there isn't, it'll wilt the next day. If you don't want space between the trees, use bush starts to fill in the gaps.

Just remember, bush starts can't have anything blocking their path either. (Same as a tree, it needs space all around it, if you can dig around it you're good) Though trees/bamboo don't apply to this for some reason. Also, bushes can only have a line of 12 (including the trees you're planting) So if you plant a 13th, it'll die.

Thank you everyone! The sapling in the middle did die so today I went to the island and bought some bush starts. I'm planting them inbetween trees, so I hope it works
