I'm not into changing outfits and haven't been in the Able Sisters shop since it opened on my Island... will I miss any kind of content because of this?

I would suggest that you at least talk to Sable every day. She gives you patterns for your furniture.

You may want to pick up some basic pieces for different styles (classy, sweet, sporty, casual, ...) because the fashion rating exists later on.
