Will having few trees hurt the town rating?

I'm thinking of eventually getting rid of my big orchard and chopping down a bunch of trees besides some that I have up my hiking trail but I'm wondering if this could hurt my 5-star rating.
I know that too many trees can do that but not sure how it works the other way around.

Yes, though I believe you can substitute them for flowers, hpwever IIRC, a tree is worth 1pt, where a flower is worth 0.25pts.
