Wii U: Wiimote or Pro Controller?

I don't even know :l
RIP gamecube controller...

I guess I'll just have to use the pro controller for smash bros...

Never played with a Pro U controller but I'm getting some for MK8 which shoudl be fun, I heard a lor of good things about the controller, gonna take some getting used to though.

Did you hear a gamecube-like controller is in the works for the Wii U?

Yeah but it's 3rd party I thought. Not actual Nintendo brand which could be funky. Unless I read the article wrong lol

I don't own a Pro, but my friend does and it's quite nice and useful for games that you would rather use a joystick for instead of those that focus on motion controls. I imagine that for Mario Kart it might not really be useful unless you hate motion controls, since the Wii remote bar (as well as the gamepad) seems more natural than the controller shape steering wheel. The Wii remote should suffice for another generation of steering as it already does with Sonic All Star Racing.

I feel games like DK, Mario 3D World, Mario/Luigi U, etc all could make good use of the Pro as a gamepad/wii remote alternative. But gamepad heavier games like Wind Waker, Rayman Legends, Pikmin 3, or Monster Hunter U aren't as suited

Wii U Pro Controller is the obvious winner for me. It's more comfortable for my hands than the Wii Remote held sideways, and we won't have to deal with the somewhat imprecise motion controls (even with MotionPlus on it). Also, each recharging gives you well around 80 hours of gameplay rather than having to swap batteries now and then. My only complaint is the button placement being too close to the center for my thumbs.
