Wii U Issue

Well, I have an issue (that may not be an actual issue).
*My Wii U has not yet been updated

After playing Nintendo Land, I opted to go back to the Wii U menu via the home button on the Gamepad. However, when I did, it got stuck on the home menu. So I tried shutting down the U via the Gamepad. That didn't work, and I was able to turn the Gamepad back on and connect to the Wii U for a few minutes afterward (TV control still works fine) until I was no longer able to connect to the console. Now it's just stuck on that screen with the music playing.

My best guess is it's trying to update the Wii U in the background and is stuck on that screen while doing so. Since it's been such a long time (over 30 minutes), I assume it's still downloading.

Help will be greatly appreciated!

It just froze. I checked my bandwith counter and nothing was happening. All I had to do was unplug it and plug it back in. Thanks!

If you can't get the system to turn off, the system might have hard locked up. Happened to me in NSMBU the other day, had to pull the power plug out to make it turn off.

EDIT: Oops, looks like you figured it out yourself while I was posting. Glad to see it was just that.

Apparently, this is a pretty common problem. And yeah, the only way to fix it right now it to unplug the console, which isn't good for it, but still...

Hope it's not like that with the Wii U's over here..
