Wii Help (I think it might be toast...)

So today my Wii decided it doesn't want to read any more disks, GameCube or Wii. It's been making a horrendous noise whenever I insert/eject a disk for years now, so I figured it might be nearing the end of its life (bought it in 2007), but I was hoping it wasn't.

Anyone else ever had this problem? Were you able to fix it or was it the end for your Wii? I just did a system transfer to my Wii U so my Wii is basically useless now anyways. Do used game shops and those sorts of places usually take broken systems for parts?

Same thing with mine, except only Wii discs won't read. I think you can have it repaired, but it costs around $100...
