Its ridiculous because Red and Yellow do not mix pink, only orange. Its red and white that makes it Pink. Why is this?

Doesn't red and red sometime breed pink? You might be placing them in a way that is allowing two red tulips to breed

No, red and red will produce black. I think the only way a red flower with another red flower could breed pink would be if one or both of them had come from a combination of red and white (red and white sometimes just breeds red) since those red flowers would have white gene they could pass on, resulting in pink.

I think it something to do with the genetics. I think if the red flower was the offspring of a pink, it can breed more pinks or something along those lines.

Ah ok, that's makes sense! :) thonky needs to sort out their hybrid guide ;_; all this flower hybrids is confusing!

I'm pretty sure some combos can make multiple different hybrids? I've gotten more blue pansies from red and yellow than orange and also pink from pretty much any red and red. I've also gotten orange pansies from a blue and a red but the blue may have been from the aforementioned red and yellow. I think I might have gotten a white rose from a red and orange but that may have just been a random spawning flower and the red was a red and purple hybrid rose.

An easy way to remember it is by thinking about how they'd mix in paints (for basic hybrids, like yellow + red = orange). Then, it helps to keep in mind who the parents of the flowers you're using were and how that affects the odds of the flower you'll be getting carrying those genes.

Sounds like Mendelian inheritance in action, if both parent tulips are the results of hybridization and not purebred "from the seedbag" varieties. Breeding flowers in ACNL practically requires busting out a Punnett square from time to time.
