Kyle, my wolf friend, sold me a fake painting. Why couldn't he just look up if it was real or not before giving it to me. There ARE computers in animal crossing. Or why couldn't he of ASKED Blathers if it was real or not before selling it to me? Rant over.

It's the risk you run buying paintings from villagers. Even when they seem so sure it's legit, it might not be.

I remember one of my villagers attempted to sell me a painting for 7,000 bells.. I took it anyway, and then they gave it to me free, but it was fake. :C

Every other time I've gotten paintings off my villagers, it was usually real.

Every time a villager has sold me a statue or painting its always been fake. I then make my way to the police station and report them haha. But in all seriousness, getting a fake painting does suck. It's always a risk buying them from villagers.

Ya that sucks. But I've gotten a lot of real ones from them too. Then I also started collecting the fake ones, cuz I'm one of those crazy completionist types. Now I just buy whatever they're selling.

Well, in real life, people have mimics of art as well. But yeah, since they sell it for a little to almost to no bells, I don't get mad when I get a mimic.
