Why are people surprised that Ankha is popular?

I was just wondering why some people didn't like about her, considering she's pretty popular? and why people are surprised about that???

It's just one of those things that comes down to personal preference. Ankha's one of my all-time favorites, so I wouldn't know what exactly it is that people don't like about her, but it could be just about anything depending on what a person likes / doesn't like c:

Some people just don't like her. She has a scowl and looks angry all the time, so that might be why. I personally don't really like her color scheme and her scowl, but the whole Egyptian cat thing is pretty cool.

Everyone has different villager preferences though. Some people like her and some people don't understand why she's popular because they think she's ugly.

I think she's kind of ug and not my taste but i can see why others like her because she does have a pretty interesting/original design

She's just not particularly cute to me, her face is blah and I'm not really feeling the Egyptian theme. Yes, she's somewhat unique, but there are other unique villagers that aren't nearly as popular. I don't dislike her or anything, I'm just don't personally get her popularity.

People will always be surprised about everything because we all have our different perspectives and the baggage that goes with it.

Along those lines, I'm surprised that you were surprised about people being surprised that Ankha is popular.

I am a big fan of cats in real life, but oddly enough I don't care for the design of Ankha or any of the villager cats*. However, I like Katrina's design.

* Well, except for those upside down quotation eyes on Lolly.

I quite like her design, but considering she's not very versatile and heavily accessorized I really didn'y expect her to be so popular.

Honestly, she is one of the only about 25 total non-Uchi females that I like, and the only non-uchi female in my top 25 favorite villagers! In addition, the are not many snootys that I like, Ankha, Francine, Alli, Amelia, Blaire, Gwen, Freya, Velma, and I guess Whitney is OK.

Anhka has one of the best villager design and themes in my opinion. She was one of the first villagers I wanted when I first looked up a villager list.

One thing to note about her (maybe an unpopular opinion):
She is kinda boring? Or maybe Its just the snooty personality type? idk
