So, a recent development in my town got me thinking. I irrationally hated Pietro. I don't like clowns and his character and home design creeped me out. I never wanted anything to do with him.

And so of course, he moved into Mistwood and he was so sweet and now I love him. If he ever leaves, I'll genuinely be sad.

I know many of you probably have villagers like that. Which animal did you used to hate and why do you love them now?

I wasn't a big fan of Nate at all.
I wasn't a fan of his design.

I got him in HHD to decorate his house, and I turned out to really like him. He's a really cute character to me now.

I had to exact feeling about pietro except he never moved to my town. I just saw him on the wiki and said "huh he's ugly i wonder who even designed him, what a waste of a character." Then like a day later I looked him up again and thought his design was kinda cute. Then a week later i got him off of someone on reddit and i literally send screenshots of what he says to me when we speak. I especially enjoy whenever he says "i think we need to dance a little more" then does that smooph thing

My original villagers, from when I first started ACNL, my first animal crossing game. I had Peanut, Flip, Violet, Paula, Cesar, Cally, Kidd, Dizzy... I forget who else I had haha, but at first I thought they were so ugly and annoying. Now though, they just make me reminisce of the time when animal crossing was new to me. I wouldn’t want them in my town but I definitely don’t hate them.

Bit of an opposite thing: I loved Drago, wanted him so bad, for months. Then I got him in my town and I just.. bleh, idk, he wasn’t as good as I thought. Moved him out ASAP.

I don't truly hate any of the villagers that appear in New Leaf, but there are definitely ones I would've been more indifferent towards had they not moved in. Shep is a good example of this—I probably wouldn't have thought much of him, but he's one of my oldest New Leaf villagers and I love him. It's also easy for me to become attached to "ugly" and unpopular characters.

I definitely had this happen to me with Fuchsia.

This happened to me with many of the cranky villagers. I think many of them are ugly or just boring looking, but I end up loving them the most, lol.

Yeah, his eyebrows aren't doing him any favors, lol. I sort of wish some of the designs were better so many "ugly" villagers have a better chance. But then again, it does feel a little special sometimes when you bond with the unpopular ones and end up loving them.

Now I kind of feel bad for restarting my town when Barold was one of my original villagers, lol.

Renee. When she moved in, I kinda hated her for cutting some pessimon trees to plant her house. She pinged me once and she wanted to leave but i couldn't, I didnt have enough friendship with her (i guess). I got used to her sooner or later. That catchphrase "yo yo yo" made her sound really happy in a way. I realised her birthday is one day before me. I could celebrate her birthday first then she could celebrate my birthday XD.

Aww, I libe Renee! I’m glad you came around to her.

same with pietro for me, the vast majority of clowns are very offputting and downright creepy to me personally. i still don't really like him in all honesty but i don't despise him anymore lol.

Agnes; she plotted on my first bit of actual landscaping.
I do not use that area anymore anyhow (and I kicked her out >: ) ); so it worked itself out.

I never hated her but when I first started my town I wasn’t a huge fan of Blanche, as she was always so rude. I definitely warmed up to her over time though and her personality grew on me a lot - she’s been moved out for a while now but it always makes me smile when I see her on Main Street <3

Hate is a very strong word.. So I wouldn?t say I ever hated any character.
However, I very strongly disliked having Blanche in town. She was pretty rude and I had only started playing New Leaf so all I could think was that I wanted a villager to replace her that would actually be nice to talk to.

I love Bob, but I got pretty angry with him when he moved onto my hybrid patch once. It was a patch of unused ground I used to store my hybrids on, now I just keep all my extras in my secret extra room in the house as I don?t ever want that to happen again.

Hated Cobb at first for many reasons, his design creep me out and he annoyed me many times.
However, I gave him then a chance after he moved yet again in my town and now I find him ok.
He's not that bad as I thought back then.

I hated Cobb too! The jock personality was never really my favorite and at the time I had so many pigs and birds in my town when I really wanted at least one cat huhu. It felt so good when he left!

I also disliked Rasher because he moved so near to me and his face just.. kinda scared me xD Also, why did I keep getting pigs?

I disliked Frita only because I'd rather have other Uchis especially Muffy. Frita was weird and greasy but I have embraced her.

I disliked Moose because of his design, and when I first saw him as a resident of Fireleaf, I didn't plan on keeping him. However, as I interacted with him, I ended up liking him a lot. He definitely isn't leaving anytime soon.

Same story with Canberra, though I was more ambivalent towards her. She's now my favorite Uchi villager.

I use to hate Jaques, but now I think he's kind of cute. I also use to hate Renee because she was in my sisters "void" or whatever (I forget what its called) and moved my town by accident, but she actually moved into a really great spot plus she goes with the "vibe" of my town, so ive learned to appreciate her

Willow plotted on an area I was literally about to build a fountain on. I was so mad. I'm waiting for her to leave so I can have that space back.

I don't like most of the guy pigs. They scare me.

Almost every jock villager tbh. Most of their designs don?t appeal to me but their silly personality usually makes up for it. Especially the jock birds :D
