the team i follow is the Tampa Bay Lightning. i'm not sure how far they can go this year, as their best player, Steven Stamkos, has been out injured so far during the playoffs. right now their second round series with the NY Islanders is tied up at 1 game apiece.

so far two teams that won their divisions were upset and knocked out in the first round. plus, the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks have been ousted. the favorites to win the Stanley Cup at this point are probably the Dallas Stars.

(also i'm always curious how much European hockey fans follow the NHL playoffs....)

so, who are you rooting for to win the Stanley Cup??

OK! I hope Steven Stamkos gets the big hit for the team! But other than that I'm not a very close watcher xD

Wild

Uh... I don't know... Maybe Nashville so the 100 or so hockey fans that live there can be happy.

I'll root for Dallas since I'm from Texas and I've always liked the Dallas area. I won't root for any other Dallas team though (since I'm from the Houston area)

right now they're at the conference semi-final stages.

in the West, it's Dallas v St. Louis, and Nashville v. San Jose (CA).

in the East, it's Tampa Bay v NYC, and Washington DC v Pittsburgh...

Nobody. I don't watch like any sports and I have literally never in my life seen a hockey game or even part of one.

aw, you should experience a game in person one time. they have a few teams out in California, i think your nearest might be the San Jose Sharks? its fast action, and most arenas make it pretty entertaining even if you dont know all the rules and intricacies of the game...

Definitely the Caps. You mean to tell me it's been this long since we've been in the NHL, and we still haven't won a single cup. It think this year's our best bet with players like Kuznetsov.

its not easy to win a Stanley Cup, there are other franchises that haven't won one either. even some old franchises, like the Leafs, haven't won a Cup in like anybody's memory.

As an European no I don't care too much or follow the stuff. Yes we have a lot of Swedes over there but to be honest I have no idea who most are and I don't recognize many names haha unless they were to play the world cup or stuff later on.

the playoffs are reaching ythe conferenc finals stage (the League semi-finals).

In the Eastern Conference, my Tampa Bay Lightning have osmehow advanced without their best player, and will face the Pittsburgh Penguins startign tomorrow night.

In the Western Conference, the St. Louis Blues eliminated the Dallas Stars in game 7 yesterday; they advance to the Western Conference Finals where they will face the inner of today's game 7 between San Jose and Nashville...

the San Jose Sharks defeated the St. Louis Blues to win the Western Conference, and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals NHL Championship round for the firs time ever.

the Tampa Bay Lighting take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight in game 7 of heir series, the winners will advance as the Eastern Conference champion to the Stanley Cup Finals. I can't believe the Lightning have made it this far without their best all-around player and their starting goalkeeper, who are both out with injuries. I hope they win tonight-- go Lightning!

I hate the Penguins so much, so I'm really hoping the Lightning can keep it going and beat them ;;

Aaaand, there goes the Lightning. It was a good run.

it was a good run-- especially without Stamkos and Ben Bishop.

but very disappointing that, for the second year in a row, post-season injuries dramatically impacted their success.

I feel like this team should have won a championship last year or this year... they might be able to keep this group of players together for one more season, but after that the salary cap rules will force the team to trade some of them away...
