Pokémon Which Pokemon title would you suggest to a newbie?

Like all the other people here, I'd say X or Y because it's much easier than any of the other games (apart from ORAS) and has pretty much all the pokemon.

Hi again everyone! I picked up a used copy of Pokemon X, and now I have a silly question. This copy seems pretty complete... 50hrs play time, 338 in pokedex, and 8 badges. I usually like to keep complete files while starting a new one for myself. That way, if I struggle, I can play around on someone else's file.

My question: 1, can I even start a new file without deleting the current one? 2, is that even a good file? I don't know much about pokemon, but those seem like high numbers.

50 hours is average, 338 is almost half the Pokedex, 8 Badges means they've beaten the game most likely (the only games with more than 8 badges were Gen 2/Gold/Silver), and no....to start over you'd have to delete that file I'm afraid. All Pokemon games (main series games) only have 1 save file. : /

There is a way to save the Pokemon on it though, if you really want to keep them! There's an app for 3DS called Pokemon Bank. You can get a pass for it (it's like $5 for a year) and transfer the Pokemon on that save to the Bank, start your new file, then transfer them from Bank to your new file.

Thank you so much! I think I'm just gonna clear the file and start anew. My first pokemon experience begins! :)

Alright, enjoy! If you need any help or advice feel free to PM me! Mind if I add you on my 3DS?
I just recently finished Pokemon Y myself, loved every minute!
