Today's date or an earlier date so you can TT through the beginning phases (i.e., new move-ins, tent to house, island access, etc)? I just deleted my 1/1 town because I totally lost the plot after losing my charger and not playing for a while and also i'm impulsive lmao, and I'm trying to figure out what date I should tell Rover it is today

I never start a new town my town is the one and only Meldon from June 2013

I set the date back at least three days. I want the island access right away and I like to speed through the development permit stage. I’m impatient!

The last couple of towns I've started have been started on the current date and I tt day by day to plot reset. Once that's all done, I've tt back to the current day. I've also set a town a week ahead to end up on the current day. Either way works for me. I use the 3ds clock instead of the in-game clock tho.

I love the feeling of starting over so I try not to TT as much. I just plot reset on days when a villager plot is moving in

When I reset my town I start on the normal day and TT until I unlock what I want. So the house upgrade so I don’t have a tent, the island, T&T upgrade, gardening shop and the QR machine. Then I reset back to whatever the current date is. Probably not the most ideal way to get through it but after I’ve unlocked everything I can start designing my town and focusing on the villagers.

When I start a new town I always set the date earlier by about 12 days. Long enough that I can get through the beginning phase of the game and also scan in the villagers I want via amiibo and a couple extra days in case there’s an accident with plotting them where I want.

I feel like a cheater every time though.:confused:

I started a new town a couple of weeks ago and I enjoyed the slow start to the game. I'd forgotten how everything was unlocked. I bought some tools off the forum though because not having all your tools is no fun, but otherwise I was happy to chill and take things slowly.

Ditto !! That's why I started this thread, I wanted to see what other people did/thought about it haha

I just started a new town and I used the current date and have been TTing tonsss to cycle out unwanted villagers and plan on TTing backwards to the current date in one big jump once i get all my dreamies

Almost feels like cheating TTing so much to get dreamies and shop upgrades and stuff like that, but tbh playing this way makes me more content, as I used to have a town that was really far along and at this point getting started up organically with no TTing, I'd just lose interest and it'd lose some of its enjoyability to me, ya know?

I time travel every day in every village I have. I think time traveling is fantastic since I am not simply not patient enough, nor have enough real life time, to play in real game time.

My 3ds is set on a really random date so if I did reset I wouldn’t be bothered about what the date is. I usually end up TTing the first few days days until I get all my villagers and island access.

Whenever I reset/start a new town I set the date of the game to an earlier date instead of the day that I started to make the new town. I time travel whenever I play Animal Crossing New Leaf since it makes the game fun for me. Don't like waiting to long for stuff to build up in the game. :T
