when villager sitting on a chair at home

does this mean anything?
3 of my villagers are sitting on his/her chair when I walked into his/her home and talked to me while sitting on it.

Could this mean the level of friendship achieved so that I could get their pic?
or just normal?

In my experience, it doesn't seem to reflect high friendship levels :c

I first saw Roscoe sitting on his chair more than an in-game month ago, and he only just gave me his pic recently.

I've never heard of that meaning friendship isn't high. Also I have max friendship with two villagers and I still see them sleeping in their house, so yeah. o.o

Yep, I've found villagers sitting on chairs when visiting dream towns. It's random and kind of rare. You can see them sleeping a lot of times during the hour before their bedtimes. Also, I often catch my normal girls sleeping at 6am and they thank me for not letting them fall back asleep.

Dotty moved in yesterday, and today I went to pay her a visit and she was sitting on her couch. It doesn't mean anything.

Molly had moved in, in my old town, about a week before sitting on her sofa. She sat on her chair a lot, but didn't give me her picture. Punchy was stood up sleeping in his home twice within a week of having my current town.

I don't understand why they don't sleep in their beds?!? That would be SO cute! It would be better if only the ones with no beds stood standing up.
