When a neighbor loses their key in the river

When you help out a neighbor and fish their key out of the river, has anyone ever tried to get into that neighbor's house before returning the key to them?

I think the only time you can go inside a neighbor's house is during Christmas eve.

Well that's a bummer. I thought it would be pretty neat to be able to sneak into their house, even though if you don't get their key for them they just "have the locks changed" overnight.

lol, that has happpend to me 5 times, each time i caught the key, it sucked.

I found something out about this:
You CANNOT get the key over Wi-fi
I had two of my friends in my town over wi-fi, and all three of us were searching all over the river, and we couldn't find the key, there is like...a %99.9 chance that i'm right...that you can't get it over wi-fi

I was just curious if you could. I mean, they give you the option of stealing presents your neighbors ask you to deliver... I just wondered if they'd give you the option to let yourself in when the neighbor is locked out.
