What's your favorite game mechanic of ACGC?

Probably the acre system. I remember seeing Wild World for the first time and thinking "Ew, who wants a rolling world?"

I also loved the events and the NES games. I think I've actually been spending more time playing Wario's Woods in AC lately than I have spent actually playing the game.

This was the first thing that came to mind.

But all this talk is getting me feeling REAL nostalgic! Forgot about a lot of this stuff. Like the bill board treasure hunts, that freaking aerobic thing in the morning, the fact that every thing was split in acres, the multiple item select. Dang, what fun that game was. Come on virtual console, give me AC:GC or give me death!

Man, it took me so long to get used to the rolling log perspective after playing population: growing for so long, I kinda miss acres but see that they wouldn't work out in new AC games. I also miss Wisp and collecting ghosts in the middle of the night.

Also, you could give fish and insects to other players by putting them on your gyroid, but in recent expansions there is no way to possibly give another person a bug or a fish. Speaking of which, I miss having a gyroid in front of the home, even though he was just meant to be a representative for the visitors since the system only allowed for one player to be in the town at once.

And in general, I think it wouldn't have hurt New Leaf for the towns to be just a little bigger and for there to be a possible 15 villagers in each town. I have so many dreamies I can't fit them all in ten slots.

I loved the map was divided in acres, but I didn't like how the screen moved when the character moved into another acre... It made me a little queasy for some reason if I hadn't played in awhile. Weird, I know lol.
But I really miss the NES games, having the Gyroid assistant, and the little treasure hunts :)

I know this is kind of terrible, and would ruin the fun for many people, but I miss the code system. I miss being able to type in a code and finish up my set of furniture in one sitting, or get limited edition items I (at the time) had no idea how to get legitimately.

I liked so much omg. I liked how you could find the villagers doing classes, like pilates or something, at the town square.

I like the password system. If apocalypse comes and two people on opposite sides of the US find this game in the rubble, they can still play and trade.
