It seems like the dialogue is expanded on a lot more than in later games...ACNL included. (: Tell me some of your favorite things about ACGC.

I liked the friendship scale because it added variety to the conversations. I also liked the events exclusively in that game (i.e. the Sports Fair and morning aerobics).

If you have the Japanese Version for the Japanese GameCube, then I think New Leaf is basically just a basic build-off of that, as you can modify the town through three public service projects...

Aw, rats. They took out that feature? :(

I've only played ACGC but the dialogue, cleanness of the graphics, and swiping e-reader cards were pretty great

No, you can still do that in later games?

I like the balls and the dialogue in general, everything felt more alive.

You can't. In GCN you could highlight multiple items and drop them at once. You can essentially do the same in later games but you can't highlight them

I liked the balls, the events such as aerobics, I miss Copper and Booker being cops together, asking Copper about suspicious happenings going on, I kinda miss Acres...

But most of all...

I MISS THE GIANT SHRUBS.
I really do...

I like how you could drop multiple things on the ground at once.

That, and the ability to throw away more than one letter at once, especially if you had just ordered a bunch of things from the catalog.

I also loved the events and the NES games. I think I've actually been spending more time playing Wario's Woods in AC lately than I have spent actually playing the game.

I play Balloon Fight on that... XD

Anyways, the reason they made a Virtual Console was because Nintendo realized that they would make money reintroducing the NES games, or other old games, because the people usually played them more than the game itself.

I personally loved the Morning Aerobics, after all, you could dance!

music was up there with the best video game music ever.

holidays were a big thing in the game.

i was like 9 when i got it so i'll always have good memories of it.

Where do I start?!

1. Acres were awesome.
2. No grass wear.
3. Best music in the series.
4. Shiny spots in the ground containing bells.
5. Golden Trees.
6. e-Reader
7. Island
8. Island home that you can edit to your heart's content
9. Winter graphics were beautiful. In newer games it doesn't look as good.
10. Universal Codes.
11. Villagers that never returned.
12. Everything else, so much I can't list it all.

I've only just got the game for Gamecube, but I do love the acres. It makes sorting out my town so much easier!

& The proper snooty and grumpy characters are great

I seriously miss the acres and the old music so much I just can't

Why did they have to change it in Wild World

Wild World's Beta even looked identical to the GameCube version but somebody thought it was a good idea to change it

Whoever thought of that really needs a good talking to

EDIT: When did I temporarily turn into a Tumblr girl?!

I personally really did like the three-quarters view. While I don't dislike the rolling-log camera in later games, I think the top-down view was just better. I also liked the acre system as it made customizing areas of town more defined rather than just "the space under the curve of the river but above Muffy's house".

I liked how the acres allowed the villagers to occasionally bury things and post hints on the bulletin board like: "There's something in B-3!" or "I buried a treasure in F somewhere!" Having the villagers do stuff like that really helped with the immersion. Now that there's no acres, they can't pull stuff like that anymore. I mean, how would they hint it?
