Whats the deal with villagers pictures..

i see that my villagers pictures are available for nook miles points at the thingamabob in residents services.. yet i see people gifting villagers a ton of wall hanging items to get their pictures at the same time...

There's actually a difference between the two! The one you buy at nook shopping is a poster while the one everyone is gifting villagers for is a photo in a frame. The ones in a frame can only be obtained from villagers you have high friendship with. While the image of both are the same, the photo in a frame is a rare item that is hard to get, so people want them.

What the person above said, plus the photo is small, can be displayed on a wall or sitting on a surface (this also outside), the frame is customizable, and it has an interaction (you can read a quote off the back).

But if the picture isn’t important to you it’s not a big deal, or wrong of you. A lot of people really enjoy the collecting aspect of them and having a sort of friendship ‘achievement’ with villagers they love.

Oooo i see now, thanks . I knew there had to be an answer to why i was confused villagers pictures are cute and i was surprised to see them being sold at residential services!

Yah, the posters are just hung on walls, and bigger. The PICTURES are small, can be placed on walls or surfaces, AND contain information about the villager when you press A in front of them (birthday, star sign, and favorite quote I believe). The posters are a new thing, but the pics have been available since WW. They can be a pain to get, hence why they're valuable.
