What's so great about Merengue, anyway?

I've seen people clawing and biting over her, and I just don't get it... Sorry if I offended anyone who has her as a dreamie, but I just get a little tired of all the drama over her. This could also go for any of the top tier villagers, really.

What's your opinion on Merengue?

Merengue's alright, she is the best rhino in my opinion. I'd probably give her away to someone who really wanted her if she moved to my town, though.

Well, Merengue is unique. People are attracted to uniqueness, which is shown in popularity of the deer villagers, villagers like Stitches, Ankha, and Merengue.

Come on guys, I don't mean this to be a derogatory thread! It's more on a curiosity basis... there's nothing wrong with asking someone why they like something even if you don't. I'm not hating on anyone who likes Merengue and if they like Merengue, I don't have a problem with that. I've viewed threads where people hate on a user on because they lost a giveaway for her. I just want to know why people like her so much.

But seeing all the negative feedback from this post, I'm probably going to close it. I really don't understand what I did wrong, but if I did something to offend people, I'm sorry.

I apologize if I sounded hostile, but these threads are by far one of the most frequent threads I've seen alongside "which villager should I get". Or maybe they seem so redundant because every time it poses a bit of a rhetorical question, and every time, no matter what villager is in question, people give the same answer. And yet it is asked over and over again haha;

If people want something and wish to cause a fuss for it, it's their business! ACNL is a part of the daily lives of some people, if they're willing to get a little upset to make it perfect, they're absolutely free to. I think most top tiers are lovely, but not lovely enough for me so I simply stay out of large raffles and contests to avoid the drama

I'm sorry I seemed rude as well, it's just I've seen a lot of posts like this since I joined (and it hasn't even been a month!) and it's getting kind of annoying. You edited your original post, but before you edited it, it seemed as if you were judging those who did like Merengue.
