What you don't like?

The one thing that really bothers me about ACNL is relatively minor but I hate it when my mayor character starts tripping(no...not on acid) because they're having bad luck on a particular day. It's freakin' annoying and doesn't add anything to the game.

The limit on how many characters you can have for your town name, the fact that typing has a limit too (and is very irritating at times), and the lack of having options for skin colours etc. I could go on, but I'm not going to xD

I'd love more dialogue options. Like, way more. Forget eight personalities, it'd be great (and totally codeable) that every animal has its own personality and dialogue!

I'd love more places to go, and way more villagers per town.

Oh my gosh I completely agree. I've been talking way more with my villagers and I've found it repetitive for the villagers that have the same personality types. I have three snooty's and like all of them so it gets pretty damn repetitive haha, still love them though. I really get where you're coming from though, I was just thinking the same thing yesterday that I would prefer if each villager could have their own personality and dialogue.

- Lack of storage. If anyone ever went to my town, or *if * you have my dreamcode (no one does for that matter), you'll see piles of stuff everywhere, because I have a habit of collecting things. I mean, besides locker, mail storage, ground/beach, island storage, and museum, it's not enough for me. Why put so many things in a game if you can't collect them all!?

- Limiting how many bushes can be planted next to each other is just annoying. Yeah, it's to prevent people/villagers from getting stuck, but back in Wild World, your town could just get bricked so it wouldn't matter. Just my opinion I really want a huge hedge....

- Boring villagers, you can't do much with them, and when you do, it's repetitive. I really hope they add more personality and things to do in the next generation.

- Only being able to stack fruits, bells, and turnips. There's a lot of junk in the game, and you could fix the storage issue with stacking. Maybe implement something like in RuneFactory, where items stack but show contents? Like a single leaf icon holds 9 different furnitures, or something like that.

- Pattern storage available at night, since the store closes at night, and I usually change out my paths then.

I really wish some of the badges were easier to get. Even though I StreetPass quite a few people a day usually, I really don't think I'll ever get the golden StreetPass badge. The travelling badges are also pretty hard to get, unless you have friends who are really into ACNL as well, or actively sell things online and whatnot, it seems - which is also the case for the saving badge, since I don't see how anyone could get that far without playing online.

I do think they should also make the criteria for a perfect town different, possibly. I've had my town since May, and in my last town it didn't take me too long to achieve perfect town status, but my new town doesn't have enough trees, and even though it's still a work in progress, I don't think I will reach the minimum without adding extra trees temporarily, meaning I can't get Jacob's Ladders if I let my town go back to normal afterwards.

I don't like that we have to go through 16 villagers before getting the villager back again, or the fact that you can't tell them to stay on moving day

This definitely! I mean I can understand if you gotta cycle maybe 5 villagers, but 16...I'm just too impatient.

I like to be nice to my villagers, but it can get a bit annoying when they ask you to get them something. Mostly when I'm busy doing something else. I find it kind of funny as well, though. Like, a villager comes up to you and asks you for you for some fruit when they're literally standing right next to a fruit tree. xD

NPC's talk too much
Dreamies moving out!
Grass wear
Diving is too difficult
Rubbish PWPs for aaaaages (like really shouldn't be so difficult to get good ones)
Need more villagers
And probably some others xD

Oh gosh yes, in all honesty I completely agree. Almost all of my storage is full and I haven't really bought anything because of that. I'm just placing some junk in my house, and it doesn't help with the letters with the items I receive in letters or from events. That's been a huge issue for me since, as you said, there are SO many things to collect.
And omg yes I wish I could snack more than just fruits, bells etc since it would help a lot with managing storage space and make life for us acnl players so much easier haha.

Rare stuff should be orderable if it's in your catalog. If not they could at least let the player that owns it order it and than not allow them to get another one.

Fix the amount of PWP. I understand 30 large PWP would be too many. But you have a lot of one tile PWP you should be allow to have more than 30. I like a lot of benches and streetlamps but the game doesn't allow it.
The PWP should face different directions. It would be nice if you could sit on both sides of the log bench.

Grass wear needs to have a on or off button. Some players like a natural town for pathways.
Show where the visitor is on the map. Make it so you can turn it off or on. Some like to play hide n seek.
More than 10 tiles please. One player should be in charge of the pathways. Also make it so the tile don't get hit by mistake. I find it very annoying when you go to grab a flower but the tile gets removed.

Lock the villagers in when your happy with the ones you have. I happy with my main town and don't want anyone to leave. It would be more relaxing if you could just play the game without worrying about a mover.

Catalog that is at the post office or in your inventory. Visiting a friend you can quickly look and see if you need the item. Or go to buy it and it says you already have one. Are you sure you want to buy it?

The random villager house placing, and I think it would be cooler if the island had more on it to do.

However, I still think that having the SAME VILLAGER visit your house or ask you to visit THEIR house 7 times a week is incredibly annoying.

AGREED.

I like most things, but I don't like the negative player responses (which there was a thread about before), how you can't stop someone from moving on moving day, and how your town name can only be 8 letters. Although the 8 letter thing is a standard in AC games.

And more dialogue would be nice.

Oh my gosh, yes preach this, preach everything. I completely agree and couldn't have phrased it better. I love everything though the villagers moving stresses me out the most. I really do wish you could lock them so they wouldn't have a chance of moving out, I'm trying to get my dreamies but my dreamies and ones I really like keep leaving me unexpectedly. And yeah I hate how the tiles can be removed so easily then I have to replace it, it's very annoying.

Without a doubt, there's 2 factors.

First off is how slow of a pace the game moves in. from the time a animal decides to move to the time they move out is like 5 days. That is way to long! Even though i'm using the time travel to catch up method, it still just eats up so much precious time other animals could be moving out. I have 2 towns that, as of the last time I played, contains 9 animals each. Out of those 18 animals, there's only maybe 4 or 5 im actually worried about holding onto for now and out of those, i'm only worried about keeping 1 or 2 long term.

Second off is how there's nothing in this game to keep me going long term. ACWW kept me busy for YEARS without me getting bored yet I got bored with ACNL after not even 3 months. I even tried adding in a second town in may 2014 yet that didn't help. I quit playing regularly at just under the 1 year mark(late may or early june 2014) and ive been playing so rarely that when/if I do play again, i'll have to TT back to September 2014 to do the TT to catch up method.

Ah darn really? ACNL is my first Animal Crossing game so I can't compare to previous ones. I find it pretty fun, I did ditch it a few times but I've recently gotten back into it. But yeah the villagers are what bothers me the most. When you get your dreamies you have to constantly worry about them moving out, and it stresses me out. There should be some lock option so that your dreamies can't leave the town.
