I believe that the fans usually end up making better ideas than the company would ever come with. So I am directing it towards the Mario Kart series
I find this series is in need of some new ideas. So, what would you want in the next Mario Kart? Also feel free to comment on other people's ideas too.
If I worked on developing the next Mario Kart game:
I'd first start out with the name. I'd choose the name Mario Kart Anniversary Edition. Mainly because I would intend to release it in 2012, the 20 year anniversary of Mario Kart. The game would be released both on the DS and the Wii.
The Wii version will use a dual layer CD and will have better graphics. The Wii version would consist of every track and battle course feature in Mario Kart having 112 tracks. The DS version will use a 256 MB cartridge and will consist of 64 tracks.
Now for a bonus feature, the Wii will also contain DS versions of all the missing tracks not in the game so it can be hosted over to the DS in a option in the version called Download Mode. Speaking of modes, I would put a feature called Double Dash Mode where it would have it's own set of karts. This feature will be only present in the Wii version, BUT could be hosted over from the Wii. The Double Dash mode on the Wii version would feature some very special: 8 player co-op mode where a pair of 2 players would play as a team and 4 players would use Wii remotes while the other 4 could use GameCube controllers.
The Wii version would also feature 4 player online mode where 4 players on one Wii console could face other opponents whether it'd be friends or strangers around the world. Also the online mode would be compatible with Wii Speak with friends only. Controls would also be customizable in the Wii version so that the player can play their best. Both versions would have mission mode revived as well as Shine Runners and Bob-omb battle with Balloon Battle and Coin Battle as well.
All Characters will be in both versions as well as some original karts too (maybe like a 8-bitmobile to represent the SNES version). The race speeds are as follows 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, 200cc, and Mirror Mode (of all cc's); Time Trial mode would also feature speed selection. Also the number of racers per race would be 16 racers.
So now that you heard my long paragraphs of ideas, what do you think it and what would you want in Mario Kart as well?
