What was the biggest scandal at your high school?

Mine was probably the kid that murdered his parents.
Wow, that sounds crazy.

The biggest scandal I can remember is one time a guy got caught with a knife in his locker. They called the police to take him away and everything. He didn't do anything with it other than have it on school grounds which wasn't allowed. I don't even know what kind of knife it was, but it was really common for guys to carry pocket knives and even hunting knives in my area.

One of my classmate's nude pictures were printed and posted around both the school and town. I can't remember exactly when it occurred but she would've been between 13-15 years old at the time. The images were distributed by her older boyfriend. I don't know what came of it but the police were obviously involved.

there was a time when bomb threats were happening during school and all students had to evacuate to the furthest area from campus within the school grounds. This went on for a few days and I think it ended up being a student who was prank calling during one of their classes.

About a decade ago my health teacher’s first husband (and a former teacher at the school) had “relations” with several students. Some of them spoke up right away, while others released statements years after graduating. The guy is still in prison for it, as he should be.

Really tragically a student who was a senior when I was a freshman murdered 4 guys, one of them also being from my school. Made national news and there was a documentary that came out about it this past year

Edit: just thought of a second one, a teacher at my school got married to another man and was subsequently fired for gay marriage being against his contract?? It was super sad, also made national news.

EDIT 2: Omg I thought of a third one- at one of the formal dances, a kid at my school a few years older than me brought a porn star as his date, that was a pretty big scandal at the time

I was homeschooled in high school so I have no idea, but in middle school my friends sister and her sister's friends got drunk and drove and got into an accident. All the kids in the car died and there were a lot of upset parents. My friend had to move because they were blaming her mom and sending her threats for not supervising the kids well. The whole situation was very sad.

When I was a freshman, there was a huge fight between some students and public safety all because a girl got into an argument with her boyfriend and she threw something at him, but it hit a guard and he ended up attacking her and it turned into a huge fight. I only saw parts of it because of all the crowds of students, but we were on lockdown for the rest of the day. So many people got hurt and had to be taken to the hospital. It was so bad that it was on the news.

Also after I graduated my school was in the news again because a teacher was apparently hooking up with one of her students. I never had her so I didn't really know her, but it was so creepy...the teacher was caught by the student's father in her (the student's) house hiding under her bed. .-.

The only scandalous thing that happened at my school was that students from another school accidentally started a fire that made one part of the school useless. I think they snuck in at night or so when it happened. Because of that, we couldn't use the science classrooms for like half a year, which was pretty funny tbh.

There was also a boy who "hacked" into the social media of a girl and posted like relatively harmless mean posts. I don't really remember it, but it was basically just messing with friendships and, like, nothing bigoted or something like that. The school got involved and he had to stay after school to clean up the schoolyard for a year. God, imagine if schools took bullying as seriously.

Idk if this counts as a scandal, but someone broke into our girls' dormitory in the middle of the night. I was awake when it happened; it was probably past 12 am, I was scrolling through twitter and a girl who lived on the floor above mine tweeted "There's a man that came through our window??". My roommates were asleep and I assumed the girl was fake-sleeping in order not to draw attention (because I didn't hear any screaming at the time), so I was just kind of panicking internally because what the hell.

Here's the crazy part, though: the man broke into the dorm officer's room, and when the dorm officer awoke she saw him and asked the man what he was doing there in the middle of the night. The man, very hilariously, replied "I'm here to see the principal?" which prompted the officer to call the cops. (P.S.: We don't have a principal at school. Also, in the middle of the night of all times? Really?)

I don't think he got caught, but he did flee with a few laptops of some of the students with unlocked rooms. Thankfully no one got hurt, and the officers were glad no one tried to start a fight with the man himself because he could have seriously hurt anyone in the building. The girl who first saw the man crawl through her window was pretty scarred by the event, and so were all of us in the building.

Edit: I just remembered a few other cases of harassment that got people expelled. My ex-boyfriend was harassed in first year high by his roommate, and the man got expelled that same year. A teacher also harassed a student and he also got fired the same year.

Dang, you guys have some pretty serious things happening at your high schools. Personally, I never experienced or heard about a scandal happening at my high school, but I went to private school. :3

lol there's a bunch but a close contender would be when word got round a kid snapped his parrots neck or smth, it was a while ago

That actually sounds pretty hilarious. Out of curiosity, you wouldn't happen to know what this porn star's name was, would you?

As for me, I don't think I ever experienced any noteworthy scandal at my high school.

There was a teacher who got fired for having sex with an 18 year old senior. Not many scandals tbh just a lot of gossip about who was doing what with who (classic high school)

At one point some students catfished a closeted gay student, and subsequently outed him to the entire school... That was really messed up, and thankfully they were apparently punished. Still, I doubt however the school went about punishing them makes up for what they took away from that poor guy. I went to a catholic all-guys school so there was a rather putrid blend of toxic masculinity and homo/transphobia.

Also, in the years since I graduated I heard the headmaster of the school had been fired because it was discovered that he was... I'm not sure if I can say the word here but he shouldn't be around children. Though that may have just been a rumor, since I heard it from my mom who heard it from someone else, etc.

My school was completely boring in comparison to all of this. Most dramatic thing I can think of was when some kid pulled the fire alarm as a prank and got suspended. There were like 500 pupils at my school so it was fairly small.

Bomb scare. A student shouted "Boston" and left a backpack unattended at the school entrance. "Boston" obviously referred to the Boston Marathon bombings that had happened recently. I heard the person claimed to know the bombers, which was alarming. My city's relatively close to Boston and there had been a bomb scare in another school in the area the previous week. School was evacuated and I remember a lot of police cars, fire trucks, and I think helicopters too. The backpack turned up empty. I don't know what happened to the student though.

I don't know the exact details, but somehow a kid ended up hacking past the school's internet restrictions and either installing or writing a program that would generate license keys for Windows, Photoshop, MS Office, and other programs that he would sell online to people. I don't remember him getting in trouble, but weirdly enough one of my teachers did even though as far as I know, that particular teacher had nothing to do with it.

My friend was shot, by a much younger kid and got left in the woods for days. Apparently a bunch of kids knew he was out there and they said nothing and allowed his parents to continue to worry and search for him😔. He was only discovered because an adult overheard a conversation.

I got two. But l wasn't at that grade, it was at my sister's school. One kid would skip class and do drugs, the other one was about a kid who carried weapons with him like big knives and other weird stuff.
