I've been swimming and diving for three hours now and I've yet to come across either or them. They are available now in the Northern Hemisphere, right? Or is Polygon's guide wrong?

I also didn't find the Spotted Garden Eel during the day.

Gigas Giant Clam and the Pearl Oyster seem rare too. I came across two and one of them respectively and I found them both on a Mystery Island.

Same boat, I've spent probably 3 hours searching for those two. I finally found a vampire squid but not the giant isopod. They must be super rare. In that same period of time, I've caught about four gigas giant clams and five pearls

If I remember correctly, the vampire squid was medium sized and fast - but not quite as fast as the gigas giant clam

The spotted garden eel is definitely there, but it seems uncommon to rare

They’re available right now in northern hemisphere, they are both just really rare. They’re only available at certain times of the day though.

Vampire squid was a medium shadow, and giant isopod was a large shadow I believe. Both were really fast and had to sneak up on them to catch lol.

Does the spawn "refresh" if you leave them alone? Or do you really have to catch it? Maybe this is the reason why I haven't seen one for the past few hours.

I had to chase the isopod and the giant clam pretty much all around the island! Was very tense! Haven’t seen vampire squid yet though
