I've gotten kinda bored of New Leaf lately and to try and rekindle my interest for the game, I want to ask you guys some questions!

-What keeps you coming back to the game everyday?
-Does the forum play a role in how long or much you're interested in the game?
-What's your daily routine?
-What's the most fun thing to you about the game?

That's it! I'm hoping your answers could help me and others who are bored of the game get back in to it :)

Well my town isn't finished so it keeps me motivated. The most fun thing in my game is talking to my villagers, but my boyfriend has NL so we wifi a lot since we're long distance. :)

And yeah the forum does really help me stay interested.

I guess the thing that's keeping me motivated is finishing my town, which I can't really do until I get all my dream villagers, so there's that too. I don't really have a set routine, except for talking to all my neighbors at least once, and going to main street to check out everything for sale there. I just joined the forum not too long ago, but I've learned a lot since I've been here, so I guess it contributes to my interest in the game, in a way.

I've never really thought about what the most fun thing about the game is....The whole thing, I guess? It's like what I tell my friends who don't play it: each individual thing to do in the game sounds really boring, but it's a whole lot of fun when you're actually doing it, lol.

Personally, I keep playing it because of the villagers themselves. My real life friends are the best, but in Animal Crossing, everyone treats you like a best friend that they've known for years, whether you like them or not. Encouragement and niceness are always important, even if it's just from a bunch of programmed pixels in a game.

I keep playing because of my villagers, they're so cute and I've worked too hard to keep my town looking nice, so I want to keep my town like that. I got bored with ac a while ago as well and didn't play like for 2 months. My town looked pretty horrible after that, soo I really don't want to do it again xD

I guess I love the simple charm of the game in general. NL is the first AC game I've ever played in my life so until I played this I'd never really experienced a game quite like this before. I guess just trying to get things catalogued, decorating my house and trying to get my town fully decorated in future is what keeps me going.

-Does the forum play a role in how long or much you're interested in the game?
Sometimes. If I see something on the forums that makes me think "ooh, I'd like to get that item, or that villager or this or that" then it makes me want to try to get these things. Also I learn about things I didn't know were in the game and such from here so that helps, but I was doing fine playing the game daily before I joined here anyway.

-What's your daily routine?
Start up my game, equip my shovel, run all the way around town searching for money and fake rocks, run the exact same route around town every single day doing said rock hunting, as well as running past all my villagers houses (which are in a line, a messy line, but a line nonetheless) and talk to each of them 3 times when I see them, as well as seeing if any of them ping me, check my emporium for furniture, save and quit, TT to the next day, rinse repeat.

-What's the most fun thing to you about the game?
Just knowing that I have little animal friends to talk to, even though they're not real, as I have no friends in real life or online so I'm pretty damn lonely, so they make me smile. I also really love the decorating, even though I have pretty much 0 creativity, but I try my best.

I really just enjoy this game a lot. Playing it is enjoyable for me. I like being able to build my house the way I want, decorate my town how I want, dress my mayor how I want. I really love sandbox type games where there's really no end to the game until you feel accomplished enough, and even then, there's still other things you could do to make the game continue. I can understand the game getting stale for some people. I didn't pick up my game at all in April except a few times to check on villagers in order to keep them from moving. But one day, I started it back up, got inspired, and I've been playing every day for the last week and a half or so.

Does the forum play a role in how long or much you're interested in the game?
This time around, yes. The forum plays a large role in my interest in the game. The forum is good for getting items I otherwise wouldn't have (I can't imagine what my kitchen would look like without this site). It's also good for learning new things about the game, which is good at this point, since the game is at its first birthday and everyone has played through the year. Sometimes I do take a step back and leave the forum alone because it does get out of hand sometimes, but usually, the forum is a positive part of playing this game.

What's your daily routine?
I start up my game, run around looking for fossils and rocks, and then after that, I'll talk to my villagers. I do any requests they have and then I'll go around landscaping, checking stores, bidding a bit on TBT, and then I'll just mess around for a while, or TT to the next day to do it all over again.

What's the most fun thing to you about the game?
Collecting, landscaping, talking to my villagers. Like I said, there's not too much I dislike about this game.

I guess doing favors and helping out my villagers keeps me coming back. I dunno, I find it a great to waste some time. Visiting dreams and going island hopping definitely helps too. The forum does play somewhat of a role. I like to trade every now and then, so I'll get on to do some of that. My daily routine mainly consists of helping everyone out in town and looking after them. I also like to check on the campsite and turnip prices. I guess the funnest part is helping everyone out in my town and fixing up my house. It definitely kills times too.

I've always wanted to make a town that I feel like I could go to and feel at home with. I think I've finally got one planned out now.

I think forum helps because you're able to stay interested with other people, not just by yourself.

You never really beat AC, there's something to always do. There's paying off your mortgage, decorating your house, talking to villagers, building new public works projects, earning badges, saving money, earning money, participating in special events, and the list really just goes on. I feel that way too sometimes, that I'm just going to run out of things to do. But really, there's so much you're able to do. I agree, the game can get slow and boring, but in the end, there's always something else to do.

(I used 'to do' a lot in this post, haha. Sorry.)

-What keeps you coming back to the game everyday?
Watering my flowers and seeing if anyone's going to move.

-Does the forum play a role in how long or much you're interested in the game?
No. Actually I hadn't been here for a while, then Walt decided to move and I came back to see if I could find an adopter for him (I have, I think!)

-What's your daily routine?
6am: Check flowers on beach, remove any desired hybrids and relocate, water breeder pairs, walk around town, ALWAYS get pinged by Gayle about some inane nonsense that's never about Gayle deciding to move, mutter to self about Gayle, save and quit. Come back at 11am or later when everyone's awake, talk to people, do a few errands, save and quit. Currently waiting for July to finish off the museum bug collection.

-What's the most fun thing to you about the game?
When characters move and I get a new face and a new house usually stuck somewhere awkward and then I get to move stuff around to make it all work again. I've gone through a long dry spell because nobody asked to move for over two weeks, but Walt's decided to go now so I'll be getting another cranky guy moving in once he's out. The other thing is the flowers. I never bought any hybrids in my town, they're all home-grown except for when I swapped some unwanted blue violets for others at a 1-1 ratio, so it's been slow getting everything I needed. I'm glad I did it the natural way though because it gave me something to work toward!

What keeps you coming back to the game everyday?
I like to maintain my town. I also check to see if any of my villagers are moving out, since I seem to be attached to each one of them. I'm kind of obsessed with keeping my town intact. Everyday I'm progressing towards releasing my dream address.

Does the forum play a role in how long or much you're interested in the game?
Somewhat, because because of this forum it's easier to get a hold of different items for house decorating/town landscaping. My town wouldn't be the way it is if I hadn't joined this forum at all. I feel like because I joined this forum my interest in animal crossing shot upwards.

What's your daily routine?
Check to see if anybody is leaving, and work towards some badges.
Work on house interior since I'm pretty much done with everything else besides inside the houses.
As for my cycling town, I have no daily routine besides to time travel - I'm resetting this town though to create another one because there's not much to do in my main town anymore.

What's the most fun thing to you about the game?
Having the ability to customize nearly everything in your town, from villagers to placements - furniture and much more ~ But if I had to be more specific - town planning.

What keeps you coming back to the game everyday?
Almost everything in my town keeps me occupied and I became addicted to NL! I don't have much friends but seeing how cheerful my villagers are keeps me happy and it would sadden me (a lot) if any of them left due to not playing the game a lot or not talking to them much in general. But my biggest roles right now is to create my dream town, my Japanese themed home, and my dream villagers!

Does the forum play a role in how long or much you're interested in the game?

It sure did! Everyone is here is really nice, I'm still looking for good friends to play with and I'd be always happy to help with anything if I can and to help my own needs too. This really affected my play time with ACNL then Pokemon surprisingly!

What's your daily routine?
I walk around my daily path first harvesting my perfect fruit if they're available, then I start watering my flowers. Then I go running around to the bottom (Where most of my villagers live) and see if any of them needs favors to be done and so I can talk to them. After that I buy anything from the shops to fill in my cataloge. After that, anythings optional up to there, I either set up a PWP, look around Street Pass Plaza, check the island to see if any good stuff is available, or just screw around and talk to my villagers alot :P.

What's the most fun thing to you about the game?
I love talking to every single villager in my town and doing favors/errands for them! As stated before I don't have much friends. Did I mention about events because those are really fun to do as well :D

Guys, thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions!! It's amazing to me to see you all kinda reflect on your experience and reflect on my own experience as well and I hope I see more of these awesome posts roll in! I'm thinking of picking my game back up later today :)

-What keeps you coming back to the game everyday?
ACNL is one of those games that you don't really "finish". Unless you've catalogued all the items and tunes, finished your museum collections, upgraded your house as much as possible, bred all hybrids, gotten all the villagers you wanted, and arranged your town the way you like it, there's always something to do. Even then, you can still shake things up by letting go of villagers or changing the decoration. I just set small goals for myself and that makes it easier to keep going back since I always have a goal in mind, besides doing random stuff like talking to my villagers and checking up on the random activities and events around town. I guess it also helps that I tend to pace my game so I tend to play for short periods of time, a little bit every day. There are days when I'll play it a lot, but if I ever feel like I'm getting bored, I'll force myself to play less so I'll have something to do the next day.

-Does the forum play a role in how long or much you're interested in the game?
I guess so... this forum has been really helpful for learning about things, getting new ideas for my game, and generally having people to be interested in the game with helps me feel more interested in the game too. I'd still be playing even if I didn't have this forum (I only joined recently) but it's fun.

-What's your daily routine?
I don't have a daily routine because I like to mix things up and like I said, I set different goals to myself. My daily routine includes chatting to all the villagers or at least most of them, gathering fruit and shells and other items I can sell, and then doing whatever I'm working on. Sometimes I'm working on multiple goals at a time, for example, completing my museum collections is an ongoing process. If there's a new fish in season I'll try to go find it, or I'll go to the island and play some of the games there, I'll buy some items to catalogue, etc.

-What's the most fun thing to you about the game?
I find everything fun but I enjoy trying decorating things. Landscaping is sort of boring to me but I enjoy the results and that's something I've been working on, though I'm waiting to get a more permanent set of villagers to do that. I like to make my villagers more custom, by sending them furniture and clothes, making little gardens around their houses, stuff like that, and obviously decorating my own home.
