What is the rumor of Veggies?

So I heard through the internet grape vine that some data mine had info about vegetables so alot of people are assuming we are farming. Is it possible for vegetables to be an eatable ingredient item like the Bunny Day eggs were? I don't know about you, but I don't really have room to make a "garden" to farm on my island. Maybe we find these items by digging or them randomly spawn on the island like a weed or perhaps they are purchasable ingredients at Nooks? Or maybe a gift item from villagers?
Does anyone have any insight on this topic of veggies in NH?

I don't have any insight or idea. I know there will be a harvest basket for grapes at some point. I also actually have a farm on my island already so if we did get something, that would be amazing.

I wouldn't get excited.
It's probably just the harvest cooking thing, not a permanent thing.

I have seen this from the data miners on YouTube. I hope it’s true. A harvest festival would be cute.

We will probably get the update for growing veggies around November for the Harvest Festival.

I mean, I suppose I would be ok with it if we had a green house building and it was all contained in that... but eh..

We'll probably have to harvest them and cook food with them for Nook Miles Initiatives and the Halloween event. At least, that'd make sense... and probably be pretty fun!

My understanding is the datamines have suggested they're like fruits- new things to grow on islands, new things to eat, new things to use as crafting ingredients.
Frankly, I'm PUMPED about the idea. I'd LOVE to build a proper farm on my island with veggies growing in the soil and a cute little farmhouse

I mean any game mechanic that's new and not an update of a previous game's mechanic will be exciting to me. I'll reserve judgment on how fun it is until the update comes out.

No one is really forcing them to work on these updates, they're working on it on their on volition since this stuff's been planned far ahead (supposedly, 2-3 years). And cause' they want a paycheck. The only thing this community is doing is a small part of it are whining over the updates. But any game that has active content updates will do so.

I do have a farm area that is currently being used to breed flowers (only need the blue rose!), so I hope this will be a more permanent feature.

Yeah this seems like totally wierd to be just implemented all of a sudden... and if its just harvesting for one season thats absolutely ridiculous.. we couldve been planting seeds in spring for a harvest in fall. That would make a lot more sense then vegetables appearing out of nowhere in fall.. the whole southern and northern hemisphere part seriously ruins the updates. But i suppose they can implement it with cooking too it just seems wierd cause weve never been able to do that so it feels wierd to think of it as an update....
