what is the best way to earn bells in acnh? i have lots of loans and need to fix my island by moving houses. can any of you give advice? thank you.

The best way is by selling turnips at a super high price. Buy a ton of turnips, then look for someone hosting with a high buying price (400 or 500+) from their own Nook's Cranny. Take an entire inventory load over and boom, loans paid off. The absolute best way is if you have two Switches with two islands, and just look for a high price on one.

Selling a lot of Hot Items in Nook's Cranny can be good, but only if the item involves iron, giant clamshells, or bamboo (I think - generally if the raw material has a high sell price on it's own, putting it in a DIY item doubles its sell value, and being the Hot Item doubles it again, iirc).

If you have blue or gold roses, making a lot of wreaths/crowns can be another good source of bells.

Are you on the northern hemisphere? You can earn quick cash by farming beetles on mystery islands. It takes a lot of prep though since you would have to do it every time you fly to a new island.

Here's how:

• Make sure it's past 7PM because it prevents butterflies.
• That said, destroy all flowers by running over it. Don't bother plucking or digging them up. Waste of time.
• Once on the island, cut all hardwood and cedar trees. Don't cut the palm trees.
  • You can dig up the stumps to keep all bug spawns on just the palm trees. But if you want, you can ignore this since there are a few bugs that spawn on stumps that are also valuable.
  • Don't waste your time shaking the fruit trees since chopping it down will cause the fruit to fall anyway.
  • Bring customization kits with you. Customize your tool to reset its durability rather than make a new one.
• After that, all that's left should be the palm trees. Just run around island clockwise or counter-clockwise until a bug spawns on the trees.
  • When near a bug, hold A while walking to creep up very slowly.
  • Just keep circling the island catching bugs.

You can also do it on the comfort of your own island. I still suggest bug hunting past 7PM since majority of the bugs that spawn on flowers will be gone except for the stinkbugs.

Or... you can do shark farming.

This is best done between 4PM to 9AM since that's when most sharks spawn. Just run along the shoreline of your whole island scaring off all fish shadows that are not sharks. Just do this back and forth.

As the above posts said selling turnips is the fastest and best method in getting bells. It helped me pay off my mortgage and building move arounds. If you use the turnips thread here you will be able to buy and sell them for a high price

Dorado hunting. They’re easy to spot in the river. Then, if you have a week to wait for NPC visitors, store them for CJ. This is how I made my money.

Beetle farming, as suggested above. Store for Flick. (I know storing creatures isn't sexy, but your patience will reward you.)

Stalk Market, but I never got into that. Some people make bucks that way tho.

Selling hot items — never really did this either.

Be patient. Find ways to occupy your time and enjoy the ride and the gratification that comes with playing and accruing stuff

the easiest way is to dive for critters. they make quite a bit of bells. next would be hoarding/grinding for bugs and sharks or rare fish and just keep them in your storage until flick or cj shows up. i never buy turnips, they rarely are affordable enough to actually buy a bunch of them and its a gamble as to how much nooks will buy them for. the hot items is a good one too, if you dont mind eating up your resources.

In my humble opinion, there's multiple good ways

1. Selling the more expensive bugs to Flick
2. Selling the more expensive fish to CJ
3. Burying 10,000 bells in each of the shiny spots
4. Selling any pearls if you're either not interested in the DIYs that require them, or already have the DIY furniture that require pearls

I know everyone says turnips is a great way but I get too impatient and I hate checking turnip prices lol so from my experience, these are my bell-making techniques:

1.) Burying 10,000 in shiny spots to create bell trees
2.) Fruit orchard of non-native fruits and sell every time they grow back
3.) Bug-catching binge every time Flick visits (or you can store bugs over time and sell when Flick visits)
4.) I don’t spend too much time catching fish for CJ when he visits bc sometimes it’s more time consuming than anything, but you can still make some decent bells when he comes
5.) Sometimes if I’m bored I go to mystery islands and strip the island completely and catch fish/bugs til my pockets are full and just come back and sell everything. If you’re lucky you may also get the money rock island
6.) Find money rock everyday
