What is a game series you just don't care for?

I can’t think of any game series I despise per se, but I never got into GTA, Team Fortress 2, Metal Gear, Fortnite, or Call of Duty. I played the latter at a friend’s house and it wasn’t really my thing. I don’t mind shooters, as I’ve played Doom, but I found it kinda boring.

Also, Life is Strange never appealed to me. Minecraft’s art style isn’t my cup of tea, either.

Oh, there are sooo many series that I don't care for that I could make a really long post. So I'm going to focus only on Nintendo games :)

Let's start with those few that I'm actually interested in: Animal Crossing, Splatoon, Pokemon, Zelda a tiny little bit, and I would like to play Pikmin one day. For the rest I don't care at all.

That includes: Mario games (during Directs I'm rolling my eyes at any Mario segments: 'ugh, another Mario game'), Kirby, Smash, Donkey Kong and I can't remember more. But to be fair I think those are probably fun games, just not for me. I played Super Mario Odyssey and it was a really cool game but the Mario character is just... repulsive is a little too strong of a word, but it's something like that. I just really don't like his whole image 🫠

I loved Assassin’s Creed up to Revelations; Revelations was disappointing and after that I couldn’t get into the rest. I would have liked III maybe if I didn’t get spoiled and also I had trouble with controls fighting the wolves. Origins - I liked the setting but the open world was way too overwhelming and stressful for me. I honestly prefered how AC I to Brotherhood were like.

Last of Us
because they were written by Zionists. I will not support anyone that supports Zionism, ethnic cleansing and genocide.

Bayonetta - I don’t like her design and the game doesn’t appeal to me. I’m honestly pretty indifferent to most Nintendo games. I wish I was interested in them more, but I can’t get into them. I did love the original mario party games, paper mario; I loved the original Pokemon up to Diamond and I want to say I still love Pokemon. But, when trying to think of Nintendo series I love, there aren’t a lot. I like Fire Emblem but only Three Houses; I did enjoy Awakening and Fates though fates localization and writing was terrible. The older Fire Emblems sadly don’t appeal to me. Splatoon 3 I love a lot (need to get back into that sometime) and ofc Animal Crossing I love.

Dynasty Warriors - I haven’t tried the original but I’ve tried two games - Fate Extella and Fire Emblem Three Hopes with gameplay like them. I liked Fire emblem Three Hopes (though story could have been much better for Black Eagles; not sure yet about the other houses), but Fate Extella was awful - gameplay, story, dialogue. I can safely say that the dynasty warriors gameplay is not meant for me.

That’s all I can think of for now.

Any games that fall under the category of MOBAs or online shooters, the only exception being Splatoon which I absolutely love. There are a few singleplayer shooter games I liked too though. I think I just can't get into games played in very large groups and would rather play solo or with 1 or 2 friends. I'm not interested in all of the games named in the first 2 posts here, either.

Since this topic is about series specifically, I could probably come up with a whole list so I'll just throw out my unpopular opinion one that hasn't been named yet: Final Fantasy. RPGs are my favorite genre so I've played through tons of RPGs including some very long grindy ones. But something about Final Fantasy just never stuck with me. I've tried several of the games and could never force myself to finish a single one, there are too many games and that's probably why the stories seem so convoluted to me and just don't grab my attention, and I didn't really care for the battle systems either, so just to sum it up: I get bored, every time. I did enjoy and complete some other Square Enix games though.

LISA and Kingdom Hearts.
For LISA I get what they're trying to say and it's themes but I still feel like it's not for me, I find it a bit... idk not that engaging.
And for Kingdom Hearts I can't take it seriously, I know the Disney stuff is part of it's charm but my suspension of disbelief seems to fail when it comes to stuff belonging to the Mouse™.
They just don't seem worth my time

Persona is definitely one that pops up in my head immediately. I like the Shin Megami Tensei games a lot, but I feel no motivation to ever play any of the games in that spin off. I don't know if its the settings or characters, but I'm happy enough to hear about the games secondhand from friends.

i’ve only recently gotten into more mature-rated games but i have never wanted to play GTA, it just doesn’t appeal to me.

stardew valley although that’s just one game and not a series. not a big fan of cozy life sim games aside from animal crossing.

Call of Duty. I actually played the original first two games, but they were about teamwork. The toxicity came later.

I really don’t like Fire Emblem. Just couldn’t get into the one game I played. I lost interest in it within fifteen minutes.

I'm not really into The Legend of Zelda or Pokémon, they’re just not that fun to me.

Minecraft, Undertale/Deltarune and Splatoon. I understand their popularity, but the gameplay just never got me hooked on it, no matter how many times I think it's convincing enough.

I do like watching Minecraft on YT Shorts, but that's about it.
Undertale/Deltarune, not so much. I usually tend to avoid that as much as I can.

Sorry Splatoon fans, but shooting games don't do it for me chief. I do like playing as them in Mario Kart, but that's the only Splatoon you're getting out of me.

Oh yeah, Among Us too. I never really understood why users are praising this series so much. The memes are funny, but I just can't get into the gameplay.

I am going overboard, but.

Every single M rated game and some T rated games.

Xenoblade, final fantasy, octopath those sorts of games with cartoony women oversexualised , ie jumbo chests . Not that I don't mind that it's just they tend to be tactical RPG sort of games I'm not keen on them

I don't recall the Octopath games "oversexualizing cartoony women" characters? Throne maybe? But that is part of her assassin/thief wear. The story for Throne is clearly about a strong woman trying to get out of a horrible situation, and life, she was forced into beginning as an orphaned child.

Not arguing necessarily, just curious where you get any kind of sexualization of these strong women characters in these games.

Ok sorry I haven't actually played octopath but as a generalisation I tend to find those tile bases RPGs so dull, fire emblem a good example. And more often than not the women have been protrayed with jumbo tiddies

I mean what is this , the game, like her chest, Is called burst , what is it with this Japanese market for hypersexual male gamers

Not into Zelda games. Just couldn’t get into the one game I played (Breath od the Wild). I lost interest in it within twenty five minutes.

Kinda starting to lose interest in Animal Crossing tbh. But only a little bit. I’m not as obsessed with it as I was a year ago. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy it, it’s just that I’m kinda starting to feel a burnout with the game.

Idk if this counts, but linear Zelda games aren’t NEARLY as fun as the open world ones. I enjoy them, but not as much as the newer ones.

Games on the NES. The graphics haven’t aged gracefully. They look kinda dated nowadays.

Mario + Rabbids. Yawn.

Mario Party games. I don’t care for them.

Most Mario games. I lose interest playing them within an hour. (Exception: Super Mario Odyssey)

Picross- I never figured out the rules. Way too confusing.

Metroid- Meh. Not for me.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door- The game itself is fine. But dear Hylia, THE AMOUNT OF BACKTRACKING YOU HAVE TO DO IS INSANE.

Wii Sports or any sports games in general.

Fortnite- NOPE. I’d rather watch paint dry than play this game.

Game Builder Garage- It’s a neat concept but not really that fun in practice. I only played for about 2 hours before getting bored. I never went back to the game.

Game series I’m really into right now (I currently love it more than Animal Crossing): The Legend of Zelda.
(Tears of the Kingdom is PEAK video game content. I loved it sooooooo much.)

I'd be happy to explain the rules of picross if you think you might be interested. All the numbers might look overwhelming at first, but it's pretty much just a lot of counting. They're some of my favorite puzzle games, but I totally get not everyone is into those type of puzzles. Have to agree with you that newer TLoZ games are more fun than older ones (even though all of them are good), and Fortnite is one of the most boring looking games I have ever seen.

There are series I don't care for for the most part (but I have exceptions), and there are games I have genuinely never touched and probably never will. Restricting to Nintendo because otherwise it would be a long list. Also please take my opinions with a large grain of salt, this is just my preference & isn't meant to be criticism ;v;

Series I don't care for mostly but have played somewhat:
- Final Fantasy: only game I played is Chocobo Tales. It was extremely fun! Other than that I never really got hooked into any of the mainline games.
- TLoZ: I really wanted to love the TLoZ series, I really do, but it doesn't really excite me as much as other Nintendo series. I did play a good portion of ToTK to see if I could get into it but sadly never finished it. Only game I actually finished was The Minish Cap which I super enjoyed tbf! In the future I'm interested in looking into Windwaker. When I get the motivation. haha. ;v;
- Super Smash Bros: Admittedly I love seeing whenever they announce new characters because of people's reaction. One of my favorite videos was a showing where they announced Sans in Smash and everyone went wild, it was super funny and wholesome. I love the stage designs and music as well! But for the gameplay itself though I wasn't really into it, I probably just played once or twice when I hung out with friends.

Series I've never played and probably never will:
- Fire Emblem: looks cool, not really my style though.
- Bayonetta: love the style of the main character but I never sparked enough interest to look into the games further.
- Xenoblade: I'll be honest I have no idea what this series even is. I searched it up just now and saw the red-haired girl and I thought she was a Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy character I'm sorry. ;v;
- Donkey Kong: DK is a nice character. idk that's all I can say
- Hyrule Warriors: I'm separating this from TLoZ because I care about it even less than TLoZ. Nothing personal, I'm just not very into the Zelda lore so a spinoff series is even more confusing for my brain.
