What have you done or seen done with the big peninsula

I'm wondering if it's really worth it..

I saw someone make a tiered waterfall for their peninsula and they put a lighthouse on top. It was super pretty but I couldn't make it work on mine!

I saw someone put a villager house with a little garden on the big peninsula. It was really cute and it made me tempted to reset my island for a week, but I stuck with the smaller peninsula.
