What happens to the bells you get from selling your town?

NOW! I?m never going to do this EVER! But I?m just curious. What happens to the bells that you get from selling your town to Tom nook? I think I heard somewhere that they go into your new towns ABD but I don?t know it?s thats true or not. As I said, I?m never EVER GONNA DO THIS! I?m just curious.

I think you have the option to get one lump sum of money or get the money distributed into your new account every so often
