i have cards like nat, pascal, DJ KK, sable, phineas (i miss himmm), etc... what happens if i invite them? i've always wondered but never gotten around to actually trying it!
what happens if you invite non-villager amiibo characters to your campsite?

I think you can see them, but they’ll comment how they’re too busy to visit your campsite

ahh that makes a lot of sense lol. i wish they could actually visit and walk around and stuff T_T there are so many great NL characters that didn't come back!!
They won't visit, but you should be able to use them in the photo studio on Harv's island! You can also order their posters, like you can for villagers.
To be honest, since it works differently, it doesn't make a lot of sense for them to show up. They only showed up in ACNL so you could order from their RVs, but that's not how the campsite in this game works. Maybe if they gave exclusive DIY recipes but, as of right now, they don't have any special ones to give.
To be fair, they might still come back in updates. Originally, my Rover Amiibo did nothing- but after the May Day update I was able to scan it and get his poster. And those with Reese and Cyrus could get their posters after the Wedding Day event update. And... is there a Pascal card/Amiibo? If so, I'm sure people with it can use it now!

ah that's weird considering they're both in the game. but from my research apparently you can get posters for characters who don't show up too!
