I've been fan of old school cartoons with funny cartoon animals and I found Animal Crossing slightly similar with those shows like The Get Along Gang and others.

So, I decided to give a try on new leaf since I was also curious about Isabelle.
I played Wild World and City Folk, but I can notice that New Leaf is much better.

Too bad that we don't have a dog design like this one:

The closest thing would be Isabelle, but she is usually stuck in the Town Hall.

There's something addictive about the game. It's almost as if its my virtual world where I can acomplish things :-D (not that I havent acomplished anything in life).
Also there's always something to do, something to buy, gettinng to know your villagers. The fun part is it can be played by litterally any age group.
I share my DS and this game with my toddler of 3 yrs old and she loves it too.

Im not sure really, I used to play wild world but very infrequently, it just never appealed to me the way that new leaf does. This is the first animal crossing game where I've played it on almost a daily basis for over a year now. I think being the mayor in this game helps, there's so much more to do and you get a real feel of being part of the town. I love the collection aspects of it, I've completed my museum a while ago and now working on my catalogue. I love the villager designs so much more in new leaf to previous games.
I think I was initially looking for life simulation games when I decided to give this a go, I wasn't expecting too much from it as like I say, I played previous games and they never did much for me. Just looking forward to the update now :)

Dunno. My sister use to play Wild World so being the annoying little sister I was I played it too and I liked it quite a lot. Then I played City Folk which I didn't really like because I didn't have my own copy. Then my sister bought new leaf and I played it because I didn't know I was gonna be mayor so my sister had to buy another other copy lmao

I guess I like being creative and I like having something to say "I made this by myself"

tbh I got it because I first played wild world played it on my cousin's ds and I was so addicted. Like I was in love with this game. i got it about a week later and me and my sister both got super addicted. for her birthday, we got another ds and a second copy of the game. And it was like a thing me and my cousins did all the time. like there was 5 of us playing this game but I think I was the most addicted since I was the only one who moved onto new leaf and every one else was like eh.

I have no idea why I was so addicted to it and still am. I guess I'm really into simulation games. Plus it's game played in real time, every day is a new day, something different. Plus it's a really cute game and all the villagers are just so loveable~!

Well it started like when I was in year two. So six years ago. Me and my best friend then were on our ds' when her mom brought a computer in and helped us exchange games. I gave my friend animal crossing wild world and she gave me builder bears workshop. She played animal crossing so much and eventually I got enhanced in the game too. Wild world began to bring me boredom because I was stuck with the same old villagers all the time. Until Mallary moved out. I was so happy because it opened up a new door- a new villager. So I time travelled a day forward and I found a plot with Bill on. I was curious to find out who the villager was and what (presumably) he looked like. So I time travelled another day and saw this adorable duck before my eyes and I fell in love. After dropping my ds multiple times it began to go red on the upper screen and my dad forced me to stop playing because it could hurt my eyes. Luckily though my aunty had a 2ds so I used hers and played on that. So I got the game card (which was a game card that had multiple games installed on it) and went back on wild world. I continued to play on it until I begun to get bored and I decided that maybe it would be better to say farewell to my town and let my addiction go. My aunty had her 2ds back and I left it at that.

About a year later I got a 3ds for my birthday and I excitedly bought many games. Of course new leaf wasn't released until 2013 so I was unable to purchase it. I got bored of it until early 2014 when it hit me that animal crossing new leaf had been out for almost a year. I saved up all my money and got myself new leaf. I created a town called ponybert and I loved it. I had my first smug as chadder but unfortunately no bill in the 8 months of playing. So late 2014 I decided I wanted a fresh start so I started anew in a town called Latria. I played many weeks until one night I left my 3ds on charge while I went to the loo. In that miniscule of time my cat walked into my room, sat on my 3ds and took a nice long wee on top of it and ran off. I came back to see my 3ds was broke. It was near my birthday and Christmas but I couldn't muster the courage to tell my parents that the cat had peed all over my beloved 3ds and left it drenched in yellow liquid.

About half way through 2015 I managed to tell my nan who tolled my dad and they agreed to get me a new 3ds for my birthday and Christmas. I was so excited until the night of my birthday in which I had my 3ds however I had to go to hospital because I had tonsillitus, a chest infection and ended up having a panic attack and passed out in the back of the car. Once I had recovered from this, I was able to go on my 3ds and play on animal crossing. I made multiple towns and ended up getting bored and getting back into it off YouTube. Eventually I ended up creating this town this week and now I'm getting myself the development permit.

This is how I got interested in animal crossing new leaf

Simple; I love flowers and I love animals. Then I saw this game someone suggested me and I was all like "oh man .. I'm in for an addiction" wasn't till recently I actually got the game so I'm still a long way from a true addiction. I wish I knew of it sooner, oh man I would of done everything possible haha !

The pace of the game suits me. This is something I can control the way I want and it's almost infinitely variable. I don't like the "hack 'n slash" games at all as they frustrate and bore me quickly. After playing New Leaf for a while, I decided to buy Wild World for comparison and that turned out to be a total dud. My outlook would surely have been different had I started on the earlier (and cruder) WW and progressed to NL. I have never had a cat, but my dogs always respected my property and used their door when they felt the urge to "wee". Thanks to MPC12 for a nice laugh this morning.

When I was little, I played on my cousin's DS and I liked Animal Crossing Wild Word in particular. I saw the ACNL commercial on TV so I thought I'd play Wild Word's sequel as well. Turned out to be a super fun (and addicting) game. :)

My ex got it for me for Christmas. He wanted a game we could play together. Sure enough I liked it more than he did.

Same with me and my best friend in high school! We both got WW and played it almost every day, but I was way more addicted to it than she was. I was superrrrr excited when NL came out, but by then my friend moved on from animal crossing and wasn't that interested in it (plus we weren't that good friends anymore lol) but at least I found this forum so I could play with people!

I've been an avid fan for a long time, but being "mayor" this time around sealed the deal for me.
In Animal Crossing, what makes me interested is the villagers and customization. Talking to villagers is a BIG thing for me (shame they have redundant dialogue in NL). I also love customizing and designing. It's a really fun game, and gets me hooked every time I play. It's a nice change of pace from the RPGs I usually play.

When I was really young my mom gave me an animal crossing game for the gamecube (don't remember the name) and ever since then i've always loved animal crossing. :)

The biggest thing driving my desire to play the game almost three years later is my all-rabbit town that I made to honor the memory of my Bun Bun. If it weren't for my grief-roasted desire to make it the best town I've ever had, I would've already stopped playing the game.

I went to Gamestop to buy Smash Bros, but I didn't have enough money to buy it. ;-; So I saw ACNL and I thought how the animals are cute. So I got and tried out......and I got addicted to it. I wouldn't be me if I hadn't got the game.

Originally my brother bought Wild World like... whenever that came out, I can't remember. I liked it okay. Then he got City Folk, and I liked it a little better. I went ahead and bought ACNL for myself when it came out, and it's definitely been the one I've been most involved in. I guess what got me to go ahead and by it for myself this time was that the style is so appealing.
It's a pleasant game that you can waste as much or as little time as you want on.

I was interested in getting the game because you can design your own clothes. I'm also inspired seeing how many good clothing and path designs were in this game that is shared all over the internet. I even have a folder full of QR Codes prior to getting a 3DS for this game.
