What do you looking for in a town's map?

Hello! I was just wondering what things you look for in a town, placement wise. I know that I want Re-tail near the docks, and that I want the waterfall pointing south, but I don't know what else to look for. What do you guys think?

Im about to re-start in my town for sure, and these are the things Im definitively going to be looking for:

-Re-tail near the docks
-Waterfall pouring into the sea on the south.
-No "mini island" on the beach that is only rechable with the diving suit.
-Town Tree at the center of the map.
-I want the ramp that goes down the beach at the south to face the south, not awkwardly to the side. (If that makes sense to anyone?). Best case scenario involves having it perfectly lined up with the docks!

This is basicaly what I dont like.

-I kinda prefer towns where the sea expands to the left, but Im not too picky on this.

Those are great ideas! Thank you so much for bringing up the beach ramp! (Except I am the opposite! I think the straight one looks kind of odd!)

the main thing I look for is a long expanse of beach with the ramps connected to the same segment and only a tiny bit of beach left w/o a ramp so I dont have to go back to the mainland while fishing.

Don't forget to avoid towns with a reeeeeally long river because you can only build three bridges!

Hmm... That's a good point! I think I would be fine with either type of beach, but having one with two ramps would be pretty helpful!
