What do you do while waiting for anticipated games, from several months to the next year?

Usually, I play previous installments (if there are any) or play similar genre games.

Watch the same trailers of it a lot lol. I'm currently going through this with fire emblem, I just bought Story of Seasons so that will help hold me over. Haven't been this excited for a 3DS game in a while.

Watch trailers for it

Watch gameplay of it

Stare at the release date of it

Watch more gameplay of it

Forget about it over time

Remember about it

Get it

Play it for a week and get bored of it.

This......is actually exactly what I do now that I think about it.

I watch a few trailers to see if it looks worth keeping an eye on, add it to 'the list' then forget about it until closer to/after release when more 'accurate' information about it is available. Hyping myself up for games that are usually not much more than an inaccurate 'theatrical' trailer not representative of actual gameplay and a few heavily orchestrated gameplay trailers are a sure fire way to leave me disappointed.

If it's a sequel to something I already like, maybe I'll play older games. I replayed all the Metal Gear games before Phantom Pain released, and I've picked Ultra Street Fighter IV back up since SFV isn't far away. Getting hyped for a sequel isn't as bad since I already kinda expect I know what I'm in for.
