What do you do when...

You really want to move out a villager and nobody wants that villager? Do you just let them go into your void (and how does that affect your trades)? Do you look for people who are cycling to take it so it won't be voided?

I have a villager who is due to move out from my town for a really long time. I've posted in the villager board before and I regularly search the LF thread, but nobody ever wants him and when they do, I always find out too late so they're either inactive or got him from a cycler.

I like him so I'd like him to move into the town of someone who likes him, but failing that, I wouldn't mind voiding him. I just don't want someone to end up stuck with him. I've thought about finding someone who is resetting their town and who would let me move him there but I've read that even if you reset you can still have voided villagers (does that apply if he's in someone's town when they reset and not in their void?) so I don't know what to do.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What did you do and how did it work out?

Normally if you visit a town with 10 villagers and you have someone in your void, it will clear it. Sometimes it doesn't work though but most of the time it does. I have never heard about resetting and still having voided villagers though... that doesn't really sound possible to me because you're deleting your file completely but I could be wrong. >.<

I normally have to void villagers a lot because no one ever wants them. They're too "unpopular." It is kind of sad. But I just visit people with 10 villagers afterwards and then my void is clear again lol. So I think you would be safe with voiding if you ended up having to do that.

I know about the void clearing trick but it's been said countless times around the forum that it doesn't actually work, which is why I still let people know about my voided villagers when I've visited full towns. Thanks, though.

Really? It seems to have worked for me every time... I didn't know there were so many people doubtful of it lol. I seem to have a harder time getting someone to move in from the void, actually, whether it be an accident or on purpose. xD Although I have seen instances where someone had the villager in their town of 10 that the other person had in their void. It didn't clear then, which weirdly makes sense if the game cannot get rid of said villager if it exists in the town you're trying to clear it from, but... the void is honestly just really confusing to understand in my opinion haha.

Sorry I can't be of more help though. =\ My only other suggestion would be to try out other sites if you can, maybe there's someone somewhere else that could be looking for the villagers you have to void. GameFAQS is pretty nice!

When I've had less desireable villagers moving out I've created a thread of giving them away in the villager trading and then I've tried to really haunt that thread. So set a day that you can sit and do nothing but refresh on that thread all day until someone comes in saying they can take it

The void-trick, I've seen several mention that you should visit someone with 10 villagers a couple-3 times to make sure the void is cleared, possibly more if you can. So you could always try finding one who needs their trainstation unlocked and has a full town, that way you are helping each other

When I've had less desireable villagers moving out I've created a thread of giving them away in the villager trading and then I've tried to really haunt that thread. So set a day that you can sit and do nothing but refresh on that thread all day until someone comes in saying they can take it

Believe me, I've posted about that villager a few times and I've seen other people's threads about him get no replies. I guess I'll try to create a thread just about him but I'm not getting my hopes up.
