I named mine island “Valyria”! It was inspired after my favorite GoT family, the Targaryens. What is your island’s name? And any inspirations behind it? c:

Greece, I love Greek gods. Athena is my character's name, in honor of my daughter Athena born the 8th of January.

Named mine Lunamiria had some mixed inspiration : ) and my BF went with Angeliria after my suggestion <3

I called my Island "Catfish" I was hoping that it would be styled "Catfish Island"
I'm almost feeling a bit catfished...

I named my island Opulence, as in great wealth. :lemon:

I named my island Kirrin from Kirrin Island in the novel The Famous Five, it's my favourite book. Does anyone know when we are able to put prefixes on our island name, or did I miss something? I wanted to have the prefix 'island' to have it as Kirrin Island from the novel.

I named mine Jatte, with my player being named Georges, after Georges Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte :)

I can't answer your question, Rymi1, but I like the sound of "Kirrin Island." :)

OP: I named mine Banna Bays. I was imagining a swarm of bees feasting on banana trees, which is where "Banna" comes from (it's a one letter difference from "banana"). Since bays are one of the most beautiful things life has to offer, and since a banana has the shape of a bay's shoreline, I thought "Bays" was natural. I love it when things effortlessly work out like that lol! I'm thinking about making an island-specific language where people say "banna" in their catchphrases, so I thought the island's name should have "banna" somewhere in it. Lastly, my favorite letter is "b."

I was going to go with my New Leaf town name, but I decided to switch it up with New Horizons and go for something I hadn't used before. It took me a bit but i settled on "Blackgrass" not to be confused with the weed that grows in the UK, the blackgrass I'm referring to is another name for Juncus gerardii. Which is a type of flowering plant that grows in salt marshes! They're really pretty C:

(It's also a reference to Lyman Reserve in Buzzard Bay, which is. . . you guessed it! A salt marsh! That's also the name of one of my starting villagers, Lyman!)

I named my island Ambrosia because I got apples as native fruit. Ambrosia is a type of apple and I think it fits very well as island name :)

Needed a nice name that sounded European like, bit of latin in there as well, so I went with Elonea.

So in the end, I just added an "e" to one of my most played games...
