my hair is black which honestly, ive been getting pretty bored with it. probably wont even dye it until february, but ive decided on doing it eventually. i was initially going to do the typical ombre look with brown tips, but id rather do something less common. there are a lot of options i have in mind;
- dying everything a pastel color
- completely brown
- ombre starting off with black at the roots and gradually turning silver then white at the tips
- a mix of different colors (ex: blue, green and purple)

extra info: my hair is layered and fringed meaning it starts off short in the front and gets longer in the back & i recently cut it so it ends right below my chest. feel free to leave any suggestions on what i should do with it

We need a picture. It's not going to be easy to tell if we don't know what you look like.

That said, black dye is very hard to get rid of. So don't expect the hair color you want right away. It will take a few attempts to strip the color, then a few more to get your hair to the color you want. Going pastel would take the longest and be the harshest on your hair. Pastel hair requires white bleached hair. To get to that from black will kill your hair, or take you half a year or more.

I suggest starting with brown. Then add ombre. Gradually work your way down. Your hair will be healthier, and the color will look better.

If you do want to go very light, get a violet or blue bleach and an ash blonde or purple hair dye. This will counteract the orange you will get from bleaching black hair. Don't be shocked at the weird colors you first get. It takes a few times.

Even professionals can't get black out in one go. They definitely can't get back to pastel or silver in one go. Not if you want hair left on your head after.

Pastel lavender for your whole hair
Or black to silver

Get away from brown, its too common and too natural looking. o3o
Go big or go home? :P

the amount of time it takes to achieve the color i want doesnt matter to me, i already get the general idea of what you're trying to say. all i was asking for is a color suggestions

Then we still need a picture of you. How your face is shaped, your skin tone, your eyes, etc all will affect how you will look with a different color. We can't really tell from written discription.

You can try those things online that let you try hairstyles out. They're not the best, but it's a good rough idea.

orangey brown is my favorite hair color. but it honestly depends on your skin tone/hair style so.

silver ombre sounds pretty awesome..
that or keep your black and do a purple tint just subtle enough so when you walk in the sun it's like BAM beautiful purple ^^

I've recently had my hair ombr? dyed from brown to red and I love it!

So I'd pick some kind of ombr?, the silver one sounds good!

But obviously I don't know if it would suit you or not without a picture, but if you are uncomfortable posting one I understand. ^_^
