What causes our villagers to have fleas?

Every time i play i will at least have one villager with fleas and im curious as to what causes them to have fleas. Is it because my town is dirty or? Also, i heard from somewhere that you can actually help getbrid of the fleas for them? I tried giving my villagers medicine but there's no option to give them.

You can remove the flea by catching it with your net.

And I think it's random, my town is clean but they get them often still.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's no reason for it, they're just there sometimes. Just catch them with a net and they're gone!

its just part of the game, they all get fleas, presumably because they're animals. the only bummer is they don't give you a gift for helping them with it. after you catch it with your net, you can even release it and it will disappear (unless you'd rather sell it at recycle, or need it for your museum)...

I don't think anything causes it but I like to imagine it is from them walking outside in the rain. xD

Yeah, it's just how it is. It adds more of a reality to it since well, animals get fleas.

I've read and learned from experience that if villagers who have fleas are around another villager, they can transfer the fleas to them.

Yeah, they'll just randomly have fleas which can be caught with a net. I don't see it happening too often but it's definitely more frequent than in Wild World.

Sidetracking a little, is that going to be your permanent signature? It really bugs me and I've even blocked you over it, though end up reading your posts anyway.
