What Bothers You About Time Travelers?

Ok I know the vast majority of us Animal Crossing players don't care about time travelers while a good chunk of us even do it ourselves. But ever since New Horizons came out, I've noticed that not just on Bell Tree but on other social medias as well, there's been some "time traveler shaming" going on. People accusing other players of cheating on a non-competitive game that they paid $60 for may I add. I saw a post the other day on Facebook where somebody made a most about their 4million bells worth of turnips spoiling because they time traveled and a lot of the comments were bitter players saying "that's what you get for cheating." On New Leaf nobody really made an issue about time traveling. So why out of nowhere do people care so much about others doing it all of the sudden? To those who are bothered by it I ask why? Why do you care so much and shame somebody online for already having a 5 star island within the first week of release? How does it affect you?

I personally TT, and I don't see the harm in it. I think the only thing I could say is I see a lot of people complain that when people TT and then post it on social media or on TBT, it's a "spoiler" for them. I mean, I get it.. it happens, but that can be said for any game. If you are active in social media at all, there will always be people further ahead of you in a game and you can encounter spoilers. Just because AC is intended with the game code to be a 1 to 1 in time with the real world, doesn't mean it HAS to be played that way. Also, there are some people who TT because they can only be active during certain times. Like for me, I work 8-6, every day pretty much.. and I don't know about you, but I'd love to see my island during the day time sometimes as well.

If the update actually adds some of these buildings, it's gonna be interesting to see how that tears up some of the super advanced towns and puts everyone on a somewhat more level playing field.

As someone who's completely destroyed her sleep schedule since quarantine, I super understand, but it legit made me cackle because of the connection. c: brightened up an otherwise dull island-hopping session

Eh, I've always been a light sleeper and a bit of a night owl. COVID19 definitely isn't helping, though. I'm high-risk and my doctor has been swamped so I haven't really been able to get my anxiety medication renewed because of it and you know how much fun one can have when anxiety comes over to play.
