We all know people have big issues with things like limited character customization and the way we plot buildings...
but what are the itty bitty tiny things that probably only bother you specifically?

I personally HATE that we don't have more basic shoes in basic colors. Specifically white.
White pumps or mary janes. PLEASE. So many of my outfits need them!
At least I can wear white socks without shoes now if I'm desperate enough but it just isn't the same.

Tell me your peeves friends~

There are no plain black pants.

Also reading/deleting mail is sooo tedious. You get the mail. You have to take the present out and unwrap it. Then you have to read the letter before you can toss it. Imagine doing this 10 times. It drives me nuts!

The mail has always driven me mad! Especially now that we get so much more through letters with the RV's!

Things that say they are a certain color, but have varying tones that make it difficult to match with certain furniture or things outside that set. It really makes me wish there was more Cyrus customizations with ready previews! It would save quite a bit of time.

Yes! I would love this. It would eliminate having to look up guides.

Oh another thing is that you always have to press A on wallpapers and flooring before you know what it is and so much dialogue when shopping that it makes me not want to shop at all sometimes. I wish you can see what you're buying without having to press A on it. And I wish there was an indicator on all shop items that tells you that an item is already in your catalog without having to run to the catalog machine and check. And I wish that non-orderable things also had a different icon so you don't accidentally sell them.

I like it that you couldn't know how the Cylus's work turns out till it's done. These things are fun tiny surprise that motivates me wanting to try various options and activities in NL.
But I'd ABSOLUTELY agree with mail thing... It's kinda annoying especially when you're the one who does trading a lot.

What annoys me despite no harm at all is, so when you plant flowers like pansies exactly at a block under the cliff, upper part of petal is molded in the cliff wall. Looking at it pretty turns me off (-_-; Like, as though... that, this is at the end of the day just a game made digitally....................

Rocks.

Grass erosion and everything about it, especially that running contributes to it.

Having to set aside time to tan and then maintain the tan.

Not being able to wear hats and accessories with the Mii Mask.

I'm not a fan of the noses the player characters have, to be honest.

The lack of noses on some villagers like a majority of the Cats, Flurry, and Marshal.

10 villagers feels a bit low and never really sufficient, but eh, I'm used to it after all these years.

That moment when you catch a scallop just that teensy bit too close to the beach and Pascal doesn't bother to show up.

There are probably other and better examples of this, but this one set in particular comes to mind: Why can I customize the Polka Dot set to have a silver coloration but get stuck with the normal Polka Dot wallpaper and flooring? Why can't I also customize those? If a furniture set can be customized, it seems like the accompanying wallpaper and flooring should get the same treatment so everything flows better.

There are probably others, but these are the ones that came to me immediately. I'll report back if I come up with more.

Completely agree about letters being tedious! Especially when I order tons of things from the catalogue. For me, I hate that I can't place a path down in front of a home/business' front door! There's certain furniture items that I wish were interactable (is that a word omg), when boarding the boat for the island I wish I could toggle singing off instead of rudely interrupting Kapp'n... I'm sure there's a bunch of other small things that bother me a little, haha. :P

I think my main two are not having the option to “stack” money in your inventory, and the fact that the swimming/diving function isn’t great - I hate having to constant button smash to be able to get anywhere -.-

Unless an item is a region exclusive one (i.e. rice cake), I don't see why they have to be unorderable. :c Blah

Reading the letters and dealing with the long dialogue sometimes are minor pet peeves, but don't bother me too much unless I'm busy or in a hurry to get something done.

My biggest pet peeve is the grass deterioration. It drives me crazy. It wouldn't be so bad if there were some reasonable means of fixing the damage, but there's so little you can do about it. I've only been playing this game for about a month and it's my first time playing any Animal Crossing game, so I knew nothing about the grass problem. I spent my first few weeks running all over the place, shaking trees, chasing bugs, and fishing along the river. I didn't notice the issue until I saw the grass looking awful and huge bare patches showing up everywhere. I looked online and discovered the problem. Now I'm working hard to fix the damage but it never appears to get any better.

They should provide reasonable options to repair the damage, like selling grass seed in the gardening center to regrow grass in the bare patches. And maybe they could have a grass growing ordinance. If you set that ordinance for a while, it halts or dramatically stops grass deterioration and speeds up grass growing. That way, you could set the grass ordinance any time your grass was looking worn and then turn it off when the grass was restored. It would make playing the game more fun or at least less frustrating when you're trying to keep your town looking nice. I would like to be able to chase bugs and fish and just run if I want to without worrying about doing permanent damage that can't be undone or takes forever to fix.

^Believe me, City Folk was MUCH worse when it comes to grass deterioration..

My minor pet peeve has to be not being able to choose where animals live. Starting animals choose weird spots.

A bit better with the Welcome Amiibo update and patterns but still xD

Grass deterioration is a major pet peeve of mine as well. I've used it to my advantage to create natural dirt paths, but I would prefer not having to deal with it at all.

My minor pet peeves are:

- Not being able to center an item on a table. Trying to place a small table-top item on a large table and having it hang off the edge bothers my OCD to no end. Why can't I just place the sushi container in the middle of my large tea table?

- That they cut Blathers' dialog and he no longer gives an explanation of my donation. I used to love turning things in to the museum and hearing him describe the item in detail. That was his signature trait and they took it away from him. How can you call him Blathers when he doesn't blather anymore? At least give people who don't like it an option to cut him off, like Kapp'n, but they shouldn't have gotten rid of it entirely.

- I agree that the amount of time it takes to open mail and check your storage/inventory can be a bit annoying. I was clicking on items in my inventory yesterday to see what I had and after clicking on the first item, I had to click twice to get the second item's name to show up. It should only take one click.

That's all I can think of right now, but if I come up with anything else I'll post again.

i just have two main pet peeves. the one that bothers me the most is repeated dialogue/dialogue when you enter a shop and when you leave. i absolutely hate being dragged into dialogue with a shopkeeper when i enter a shop and leave a shop. they should just say "Welcome!" off to the side or something without pulling me into a dialogue with them. i also can't stand the constant repeated dialogue. it does make sense to have it, like Blathers for example, but there should be a faster way to go through everything i've heard a thousand times before

my second pet peeve is putting all of my tools in my letters (because it takes up pocket space), but then having no room for letters and having to constantly go to the post office to save letters. there should be a toolbox option or something similar in the next game

ME!! Especially when you create a new town and gotta go through all of those loud introductions.. Like with re-tail, it's just so annoying ahh. Also, when you first get introduced to the people in the house shop, theres a bunch of dialogue and I really dislike it. ALSO, when you enter your house for the first time and Isabelle comes in and forces you to try a wallpaper and all that. I hope for switch there will just be a "skip" button for all of this. I just don't get it.

That clock that shows up on your screen whenever you stay still for a few seconds. When I'm just playing normally, I barely even notice it. It's when I'm trying to take photos that it becomes annoying. Since I find it to be an eyesore when looking at an otherwise good photo. Surely they could have found a place for it in the bottom screen?

(I guess based on my user title it only makes sense that I would be ranting about clocks.)

Oh, yes, I forgot about this, but I completely agree! Sometimes when I'm trying to line up a good picture the clock pops up and in the time it takes to get rid of it, the villager has moved. Sometimes I just take the shot with the clock showing to make sure I don't miss it, but I hate seeing it in my photos.

One thing that drives me crazy is that when you try to dig a hole at a diagonal, you end up digging vertically or horizontally. Also, the detail of the clothes. I know that this is a 3ds game but the fact they're a bit pixelated drives me a bit nuts.

MapleSilver, LadyDestani

Not sure if you guys know, but if you hold down any Y-B-A buttons, it will get rid of the clock even when the camera is facing upwards. It feels kinda awkward while taking pictures, but it can be pretty helpful when trying to get a specific shot!
