What are some under-used town Themes?

I have an extra ACNL copy and I was wondering what town I should make? I know a lot of people make forest towns, pink towns and fall towns so I didn't want to do that because I want to make something unique, but I have no ideas of what to make!

(suggest whatever town ideas you have because i have access to hacking)

Also, I have already finished a town I did without hacking and finished everything basically possibly in the game, and I am interested in making a visually appealing town to visit, so please don't comment that i'm lazy

Maybe do a winter or city themed town. In the winter town, you could have all the illuminated PwPs, lots of holly bushes, snow people everywhere. In the city town, you could have paths that look like streets along with the video screen and Tokyo tower PwPs as well as the modern police station, town hall, and train station. Your house in the city could be a cool, modern villa. Maybe to give a softer edge, you could save the town in spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.

Maybe a tropical town, not many people do that, you could have lots of hibiscuses and palm trees, and colorful flowers and lots of tropical fruit (coconut trees, banana trees, orange trees, mango trees, lychee trees, lemon trees, durian trees), you could name it after and island or something tropical. Or you could do a farm/countryside themed town, with farm designs on the ground, and you could set it in fall and call it Harvest or something like that.

I think modern-themed towns are really underrated. There are modern pwps (modern town-hall & house reno, modern bridge & streetlight) and yet people don't really seem to use them. I've seen a few towns use the modern theme and they all looked really nice. Also, this path is amazing and looks so nice in modern towns. (or any town, really)

And I second Landon. I'm very surprised that there aren't more tropical towns!

Tropical towns (imo) don't look right unless you hack but to each their own. You could always do a modern or snow town like some others suggested. You could do a single species town of a generally unloved species like hippos or something. You could do a specific theme like Cinderella.

Maybe clown-topolis? Unless you don't like clowns...

Obvious villagers are the multicolored ones. (Pietro, Stitches) Some with clown-like face paint on them (Marcel). And maybe a couple of normal looking villagers to pose as visitors. You can make your mayor a director and the rest as more silly characters.

I have a modern-themed town because it seems pretty cool. You could try it as well.

I rarely see Modern towns. I remember everyone having a modern town with street roads in WW.

I don't see as many modern towns, so that seems like it could be a good choice. I also like the suggestion of a Winter town.

Cherry blossom and foresty towns are very rare. I've never seen one before.

I really love this thread! I was going for the typical spooky town for my second copy, but now I'm really reconsidering things! A Winter town sounds seriously awesome.

Oooh I'd like the idea of a Cherry Blossom/Zen town. There's even PWPs for it.

Maybe a Wonderland town? You could easily decorate the player's homes as Wonderland locations and get goofy, colorful villagers or even white/black/red/pink villagers instead. The Mayor could be Alice. I'm sure its been done before, but I never see it often.

A few off that list that really appeal to me are:

- Farm town
- Old-fashioned town
- Regular town

Kind of simple choices, but I think simplicity is sometimes lacking in towns (my own especially, lol)

A beach/coastal town would be really pretty but I also think a desert town would be super cool and I don't recall ever seeing one before. I also love when people base their towns off their fav shows cuz those always look really really cool

I LOVE horror towns. Never made one myself but I like to visit the dream addresses. They were really popular for a while but I haven't seen any good ones in a while.

I've been tempted to have a rural farm town...but then I get frustrated that a lot of the farm animals' houses look too modern to fit the theme *grumble*
