What are collectibles?

I keep seeing this word in something called the tbt forum? Are they something you collect in the animal crossing new leaf game? Cuz I've never heard of them before. Sorry if I sound stupid but I'm new my friend suggested I join this site and I can't ask her now she's busy :/

Collectibles are little things you can buy in the forum shop with forum currency known as BTB or TBT Bells. They serve no real purpose other than looking nice at the bottom of your sidebar. Some collectibles can sell for a really high price in the TBT Marketplace depending on how rare they are.

But to actually answer your question, they have nothing to do with ACNL in the game itself.

Yeah, collectibles are things you can buy with TBT (forum bells) in the TBT shop and from other users, you can collect them and they are displayed under your avatar.

You can also sell them and make a profit to buy other things that you want
