Weird coincidence on final night before NH?

Such a strange coincidence. I am seeing shooting stars for the first time tonight on New Leaf...the final night before New Horizons.

Whats even stranger is that all my villagers are out and about around me. Its like the game KNOWS. Anyone else having this??
