Weeding day: topiaries but no flower bag?

I have no weeds so Leif gave me the topiaries as pwps but he didn't give me a hybrid flower bag? Is this a known issue? this is my first time doing weeding day in this town if that matters. Thanks

leif only gives out the hybrid flower bags if 1) its not weeding day 2) your town is covered in weeds and 3) leif appears somewhere in your town sleeping

so he only gives hybrid bags when you've let your town become overrun with weeds, so he shows up in town and asks you to clean up your town in return for hybrids

I should add that he usually gives you an item of the flower set. He only gives out hybrid seeds after the minigame (not weeding day) with a rare chance, so don't rely on that. It's much easier to just breed hybrinds than to get a seed bag. If I had one I probably wouldn't even plant it because it's such a rare item.

Oh Thanks guys. I thought that if you have no weeds you get the topiary pwps and a flower bag. My mistake. I've never gotten the mini game cause of the beautiful tow ordinance. I just went through my town to see what flowers and I have(I am overrun with flowers cause of my ordinance) and I'm now trying to breed the ones I'm missing. Thanks again

Holy cow! I've been playing New Leaf since it came out and I am still always amazed when I read a post or thread and realize that I still do not know everything about this game.

I only learned about the specifics of this recently too because I was trying to collect the whole weeding-day set. It?s acutally quite confusing because not all guides say the same things (e.g. some just say you get hybrid seeds for the minigame which is false, the seeds are one of the more-rare items in the game. It might be true that they can only be obtained through the minigame but they don?t show up often)

That said, it?s amazing how much polish goes in to animal crossing games, it took me many years untill I found out that you can change your pocket-background in WW with shirt-designs, that blew my mind! Or when people post pictures here and ask about an item on them, I still see items I have never seen before (e.g. someone kept the towel-item from april 1st and used it to decorate a bath-themed room.
